\tUnitrans is seeking to employ Professional Bus Drivers with proven experience.
\n\tDrives a bus to transport passengers on scheduled services over established routes.
\n\tControls lighting, heating and ventilation for the passengers.
\n\tObserves prescribed speeds, traffic, travelling conditions an signals to ensure the safe arrival of passengers.
\n\tEnsures passengers arrive at destinations on time. Holds the appropriate license and a PrDP.
\n\tThis category is restricted commercial contrast which are not subsidized by government.

\n\tMust have a Public Services Driving License (PG), mastery of defensive and preventive driving techniques, ensuring the safety of both passengers and other road users. Furthermore, you must know and strictly obey traffic laws, avoiding infractions and accidents. Comply with company code of conduct, policies and procedures.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tQualification: Grade 12, Job-specific training, and Driver’s license categories: CE \u2013 G, CE \u2013 PG, and C \u2013 G.
\n\tExperience: At least 5 years of experience in the same or similar position.<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tWSWPs procedures involved in their activities;
\n\tRead, understand, and accept the code of conduct;
\n\tUnitrans Passenger rules and regulations;
\n\tRead and understand the drivers manual;
\n\tReport near misses and\/or incidents and property damage even if you were not involved;
\n\tRead and understand HST regulations and policies;
\n\tAvoid involvement in incidents and accidents as much as possible when driving;
\n\tRecognize the importance of safety and practice safe habits;
\n\tImmediately report any incidents or related matters to Management;
\n\tKnow all written procedures involved in your activities;
\n\tInspect the bus for deviations from standards or malfunctions;
\n\tRecord deviations\/defects in the check checklist and report to supervisor;
\n\tDepending on the nature of the deviation\/malfunction, the driver will either start the journey or not until the deviation\/malfunction is resolved;
\n\tParticipate in the DSS session with the Supervisor and HST at the Unitrans parks and Vulcan Site;
\n\tParticipate in training;
\n\tRegister passengers on the trip;
\n\tCheck that the vehicle is being refueled and kept clean at all times;
\n\tRecord and report all events\/incidents and accidents that occurred during a trip to supervisor and line 84\/822030;
\n\tAdhere to traffic laws;
\n\tAdhere to the customer’s SMS policy;
\n\tComplete the log books properly;
\n\tKeep a log of activities and always record updated hours in the log book;
\n\tMaintain a positive attitude towards customers;
\n\tDo not deviate from your route on your own initiative or under the influence of employees;
\n\tMake stops only in places authorized by the company, unless instructed by your superior;
\n\tAccess authorized locations, avoiding route deviations;
\n\tRespect signage and speed limit;
\n\tIt is mandatory for drivers of motor vehicles to remove the keys from the ignition after mobilizing the vehicle before leaving;
\n\tControl of the ignition key is the driver’s responsibility while it is in his possession;
\n\tIt is mandatory to start vehicles or equipment by positioning themselves inside the cabin;
\n\tIt is mandatory to block the vehicle’s wheels with two chocks after parking;
\n\tIt is mandatory to use seat belts for the driver and all occupants of the vehicle;
\n\tIt is mandatory to drive with a valid driving license and RAC2 card;
\n\tEnsure the conservation and good use of vehicles;
\n\tReport to the Manager and Supervisor on duty any damage suffered to the vehicle resulting from its use;
\n\tComply with the collection times described on the Job card;
\n\tDo not perform overtaking maneuvers between Unitrans vehicles except in cases where the vehicle in front of you has mechanical problems and when authorized;
\n\tIt is not permitted to make stops after unloading passengers at the end of the journey.<\/p>\n
