\tAn insurance company is seeking a skilled Underwriter II to join its Personal Lines team. The role involves underwriting personal insurance products including new business, renewals, endorsements, and quotations, while ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and delivering exceptional service to clients.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities
\nUnderwriting Operations<\/p>\n
\tAssess and process new personal insurance applications, policy renewals, and endorsements using the C360 system.
\n\tPrepare quotes for new business and provide input to the sales team on underwriting matters.
\n\tEnsure underwriting practices align with internal policies, procedures, and standards.
\n\tMonitor and manage the profitability of policies, including correcting unprofitable business and avoiding overexposures.
\n\tHandle renewal negotiations and prepare relevant documentation.
\n\tConduct and follow up on underwriting surveys and their outcomes.
\n\tReview policies for accuracy before issuing to clients.<\/p>\n
Client Service & Communication<\/p>\n
\tMaintain a high standard of customer service and resolve client queries promptly.
\n\tEngage with clients telephonically regarding amendments, additional cover, or other policy matters.
\n\tEnsure all documentation is accurate, checked, and appropriately authorized before dispatch.
\n\tManage and maintain digital records of all underwriting activities.<\/p>\n
Service Delivery<\/p>\n
\tEnsure adherence to service level agreements and operational plans.
\n\tRespond to escalated customer issues and provide resolution feedback.
\n\tPropose improvements to processes and workflows for enhanced efficiency.<\/p>\n
Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing<\/p>\n
\tAlign with company values and culture in daily interactions.
\n\tShare expertise, systems knowledge, and best practices with colleagues.
\n\tWork closely with team members to meet performance and service targets.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric
\n\tNQF Level 5 in Short-Term Insurance
\n\tRegulatory Exam Level 1 (RE 5)
\n\tPersonal Lines Class of Business Certification
\n\tMinimum of 4 years\u2019 experience in Personal Lines Underwriting
\n\tDOFA confirmation from the FSCA<\/p>\n
