Role Purpose\/Business Unit:<\/p>\n
\tTo support the Managing Executive of Risk, Regulatory and Compliance with the implementation and management of key compliance initiatives by enhancing and maintaining the existing controls within the financial services division as it specifically relates to insurance, payments, lending and \/ or banking related products and services.
\n\tThe role will further provide general day to day support in terms of managing stakeholders and the needs of their respective business units.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\tInterfacing, monitoring and advising on pending, anticipated and new legislation and bills that impact on the businesses.\u00a0
\n\tAssisting in the preparation of business risk and \/ or privacy impact assessments.\u00a0
\n\tAssisting the broader Risk, Regulatory and Compliance team in ensuring compliance with the current regulatory environment, internal policies and relevant
\n\tcontractual agreements in accordance with an internal compliance plan.
\n\tSourcing and providing reference materials and doing relevant legal research and providing legal opinions and advice regarding interpretation of laws vis-a-vis the<\/p>\n
Company\u2019s operations, from time to time.<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the development of Terms and Conditions for New Products as may be launched from time to time.
\n\tPreparing, vetting and \/ or facilitating the execution of legal documents \/ agreements in conjunction with the Vodacom Group Legal division.\u00a0
\n\tCreate a mechanism to ensure timely renegotiation and renewal of key contracts prior to expiry as well as engaging with the outsourced service providers to
\n\tprovide oversight and assess levels of risk and compliance.
\n\tAssist the business in coordinating any engagements with industry regulators.
\n\tAny other duties as may be assigned by the ME: Risk, Regulatory and Compliance from time to time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Stakeholder management\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse and facilitate responses to complaints (internal and external).\u00a0
\n\tEngage with internal (Project Support) and business stakeholders.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in the implementation of \u00a0the compliance training and awareness program
\n\tAssist management in creating a compliance culture and in embedding compliance principles, values and sound business practices into existing training mediums.
\n\tAssist management to create new mediums of communication to enhance compliance awareness and knowledge within the Company.
\n\tRegulatory analysis as it relates to respective business units of the Financial Services division\u00a0
\n\tAssists with the analysis and documentation of regulatory compliance requirements especially as it relates to opportunities that may be relevant to the division.
\n\tAssessing the risk of changes to Regulatory Environment
\n\tIdentify and track changes to existing and new laws\u00a0
\n\tImpact analysis across business processes and systems<\/p>\n
Job Knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tExcellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
\n\tProven track record of previous legal, compliance and contract drafting and negotiation skills, especially in the context of a financial services company.
\n\tGood understanding of both Technology Law as it applies tothe financial services industry.
\n\tA good understanding of Laws and Regulations, as it relates to payment services, privacy, outsourcing arrangements, and a workable knowledge of insurance, lending and investment based laws within South Africa.
\n\tDemonstrate ability to interact with regulators.
\n\tPrior experience in a law firm and \/ or multinational company.
\n\tBuild trust and maintain values that ensure mutual respect between the Company and other stakeholders (internal & external)
\n\tAble to guide and assist professionals and synergize with other departments \/ functional heads.
\n\tAbility to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.\u00a0
\n\tResults-driven, perseverance, proactive, responsible and an ethical person with a passion for regulatory and ability to strike a balance between compliance and business interest.<\/p>\n
