Our client is a well-established boutique law firm with a proud legacy dating back to 1965, offering expert legal services across South Africa and internationally. They are currently seeking a mid-senior Attorney and Conveyancer to join their firm.<\/p>\n
Key requirements:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 post-admission experience as an attorney.
\n\tMinimum 3 years\u2019 admitted conveyancer experience.
\n\tProven ability to bring in work, clients, or generate fees based on prior practice or network. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a professional network or track record of business origination.
\n\tQualified notary advantageous but not essential.
\n\tFamiliarity with Ghost Practice (or similar legal practice management software) preferred but not essential.
\n\tMust reside in Johannesburg and be office-based.<\/p>\n
Role Overview:<\/p>\n
\tDivide time between general associate work (litigation, debt recovery, contracts, matrimonial\/divorce) and conveyancing duties (focus is more on conveyancing, but exact ratio to be determined and flexible).
\n\tConveyancing will include: document checking\/prep, bond registration and client signings, oversight of conveyancing paralegals (including assisting directly with bond registration overflow), and ensuring regular reporting and updates from paralegals.
\n\tThe candidate should have good leadership and people management skills and contribute positively to the firm\u2019s culture.<\/p>\n
