{"id":16088,"date":"2025-08-11T12:02:17","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T12:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/chief-executive-officer-3\/"},"modified":"2025-11-12T00:24:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T00:24:41","slug":"chief-executive-officer-3","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=16088","title":{"rendered":"Chief Executive Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RESPONSIBILITIES (BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING):\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Develop and Implement a Strategy and Operational Business Plan\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tDefine the overall strategy of the organisation and develop the organisational strategic plan approved by the Board.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tTranslate the business strategy into an operational business plan.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tDevelop Social housing Projects with the transport corridor and inner city.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tDefine the required organisational structure to support the strategic plan of the company.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tOversee development and maintenance of an organisational culture and values.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Financial Sustainability for the Organisation\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure Business development and acquisition of new business and client satisfaction.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tOversee the development of the company budget approved by the Board.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMonitor the financial performance of the company.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tOversee the investment of surplus funds to optimize returns for the organisation.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure efficient financial processes in place to monitor and control financial decisions and the impact of these decisions on the sustainability of the company.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure projects are cost-effective and maintain an acceptable level of quality.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure Clean Audits.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Good Corporate Governance practices and Compliance\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tManage and guide the implementation of good corporate governance practices.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure compliance with prevailing legislation.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tProvide input and guidance to Board and Board Committees to facilitate effective strategic decision making.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tReport to Board, Board Committees and Shareholders on Joshco performance.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tManagement of the provision of administrative support to the Board and Board Committees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Effective Operational Management\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tOversee the development of business processes to facilitate effective business performance.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure systems are in place for monitoring company performance against plans and budgets.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure an effective system of control covering financial and non-financials.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure operating objectives and standards of performance are owned and understood by management and employees.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tProvide general oversight of all organisational activities; oversee management of the day-to-day operations of the organisation.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure compliance with all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements and where appropriate best practice.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure integrity, quality, accuracy and reliability of reports to the Board.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure that operations are in line with policy prescripts and legislative requirements.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Risk Management Strategies\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure risks that the company is exposed to are identified.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMonitor implementation of risk management strategies.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tReport on overall risk management of the organisation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder Management\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tCreate networks and relationships for the raising of funds required to meet the implementation of the business plan.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure management of stakeholders to support business strategy and initiatives.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure transparency and open access to all clients in various communities.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure satisfaction levels at community level are as determined by the Board and the political Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>People Management\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure qualified and competent people are appointed to all vacant positions in the operations department.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tKPA\u2019s team members are understood and achieved.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tThe values of JOSHCO are understood and lived.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tPerformance is constantly improved.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tNew industry trends are identified and understood and embraced.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure that Executives are accountable and that targets are set and achieved.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tMeasure and appraise the performance of Executives.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tInculcate a high-performance culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nMINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tA Master\u2019s degree in Business Administration\/Public Administration\/Build Environment or any related field is required (NQF level 9).\u00a0<br \/>\n\tProfessional membership will be an added advantage.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tA Certificate in MFMA or the ability to acquire it within the first 18 months of employment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tSeven (7) years of experience of which five (5) years should be at the executive level.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tWorking\/ Demonstrable knowledge of the MFMA Treasury Regulations, SHRA, Integrated Development Plan (IDP), KING IV and the Companies Act.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tKnowledge of all relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to local government, human settlements, affordable housing and social housing development.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tServing on Boards or experience at Board level is a requirement.<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>share-eu1.hsforms.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/share-eu1.hsforms.com","_company_name":"Johannesburg Social Housing Company SOC Limited (JOSHCO)","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"About Us BUILDING PLACES WHERE PEOPLE LOVE TO LIVE ABOUT JOSHCOJOSHCO was established in March 2004 by the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) with a mandate to provide and manage social and affordable rental housing that services various household income levels (R1 850 to R22 000 per month), especially t... read morehose at lower income levels, as part of the City\u2019s implementation strategy to eradicate its housing backlog.
