Job Purpose:<\/p>\n
\tTo develop and manage a portfolio of (Natural Resources) innovation projects through the relevant technology readiness levels (TRL) towards commercialisation<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tA Bachelor\u2019s degree in Chemical\/ Mining\/ Environmental Engineering or equivalent
\n\tBusiness related qualification will be an added advantage
\n\tA Masters degree in Engineering will be an added advantage
\n\t3-5 years of experience in a Natural Resources development and innovation environment
\n\tTwo (2) – Three (3) years experience in Climate Change, Circular economy, Green Technologies and low carbon economy<\/p>\n
Experience in water projects will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
\tGood knowledge of technology development and innovation investment trends in the NR industry
\n\tKnowledge of PFMA
\n\tKnowledge of support systems for early technology

Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Financial management and revenue growth<\/p>\n
\tAssist the head to develop divisional budgets and forecasts for Exco and Board approval.
\n\tMonitor and track performance against budget (operations and projects).
\n\tManage and monitor the timeous disbursement of funding to ensure optimal operation of technology and innovation projects.
\n\tEnsure that new funding opportunities are identified and additional income was raised from third party investors.
\n\tManage projects repayment obligations to TIA (Equity and royalties, investments and loans).<\/p>\n
Stakeholder management and thought leadership<\/p>\n
\tProvide input into the formulation of a Stakeholder relationship strategy specific to the STA.
\n\tIn collaboration with SSRC, ensure that credible success stories are published.
\n\tEnsure that an effective eco system is built around the portfolio including key stakeholder relations.
\n\tParticipate in events, meetings, workshops and conferences by giving input, availing skill, competency and expertise.
\n\tParticipation should result in positive input, impact and giving direction in the NSI<\/p>\n
Governance, compliance and reporting<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that adherence to all relevant policies and frameworks is maintained.
\n\tEnsure that compliance to all TIA systems (fund management, performance management, HR, finance, Stakeholder information, etc.) is maintained.
\n\tEnsure that all portfolio audit matters are resolved and agreed turnaround times on key business processes are achieved.
\n\tEnsure that project information is accurately and completely recorded on the fund management system.
\n\tEnsure timeous and accurate reporting as per requirements<\/p>\n
Innovation Funding and Pre Commercialisation Support-<\/p>\n
\tAssist applicants with building a fundable opportunity and to assess Investment opportunities.
\n\tProvide support and assistance to projects to achieve their milestones.
\n\tPro-actively identify project risks and portfolio opportunities, together with project teams.
\n\tPerform technical due diligence of TIA projects and programs.
\n\tEnsure that all aspects of the project life cycle from sourcing to exit are efficiently managed.
\n\tFacilitate Commercialisation of TIA projects\/investments. Build a pipeline of investment opportunities for the strategic technology areas.
\n\tPerform client-centric and value adding project management of TIA projects\/investments.
\n\tProcess adherence and improvement \u2013<\/p>\n

\tEnsure that KPAs are understood and achieved as agreed upon in the Performance agreement.
\n\tReview performance against agreed performance standards.
\n\tLive the values and culture of TIA. Identify and implement development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of work effectiveness and efficiency.
\n\tEnsure that departmental Information systems and tools are optimally utilized to execute core tasks<\/p>\n
