Graphic Designer (Desktop Publisher)<\/p>\n
\tOur client, based in Wynberg, Johannesburg, who specialises in Graphic Design, Print Production, and Brand Management, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Graphic Designer (Desktop Publisher) to join their team.
\n\tThis role involves creating and formatting a wide variety of marketing and corporate materials, ensuring visual consistency, print readiness, and high-quality output in a fast-paced production environment.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tA Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Journalism, or a related field (advantageous).
\n\tProven experience as a Desktop Publisher or in a similar Graphic Design role within a Commercial Print environment.
\n\tProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
\n\tStrong understanding of Typography, Layout Principles, and Color Theory.
\n\tKnowledge of Prepress and Print Production Processes (Litho and Digital).
\n\tAdvanced skills in Pitstop and setting up files for REPRO\/Print Readiness.
\n\tFamiliarity with Print Color Spaces (RGB, CMYK, Pantone).
\n\tA Portfolio demonstrating relevant Design and Publishing work.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tDocument Formatting: Create and format marketing collateral such as brochures, catalogs, manuals, and newsletters according to brand guidelines
\n\tDesign Support: Develop visuals, illustrations, and layouts that enhance document presentation and engagement
\n\tFile Preparation: Ensure all artwork is correctly set up for print; manage file corrections to meet REPRO standards
\n\tProofing & Editing: Review documents for grammar, spelling, formatting consistency, and design quality
\n\tBrand Consistency: Collaborate with Marketing and Design teams to maintain a consistent visual identity across all output
\n\tProject Management: Handle multiple jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising on quality
\n\tQuality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure adherence to internal and client standards
\n\tTechnical Expertise: Keep up to date with the latest trends, software updates, and best practices in Desktop Publishing and Commercial Print
\n\tPrepress Management: Liaise with the Production Department to ensure accurate and timely delivery of files for print
\n\tColor Accuracy: Ensure correct color management across all printed materials, including Pantone matching and correct usage of CMYK vs. RG.<\/p>\n
