The Business Development Analyst offers the opportunity to work on strategic projects that shape the future of the Group. You will analyse investments, evaluate mergers and acquisitions, design incentive structures, and produce insightful reports for senior leadership.\u00a0
\n\tThe AVI Business Development team is responsible for identifying, negotiating and concluding mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for the Group and undertaking ongoing commercial and diagnostic analyses of all aspects of AVI\u2019s business operations.\u00a0
\n\tIt is expected that the incumbent will be able to interact effectively with a diverse range of people across AVI\u2019s operations. The role has a high profile and requires promoting AVI\u2019s values and culture in these interactions. In a small office environment based in Illovo, Johannesburg, the role will require a hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the detail as well as interact at senior levels.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reports to: Business Development Manager\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Areas of Impact:<\/p>\n
\tAnalysing and evaluating major capital projects.
\n\tAssessing potential mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic opportunities.
\n\tConducting detailed valuations, including share and phantom options.
\n\tReviewing business unit performance to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
\n\tDesigning and evaluating employee remuneration and incentive schemes.
\n\tProducing high-quality financial models and Board\/Committee reports.
\n\tSupporting Group-wide strategic projects with analytical and commercial insight.<\/p>\n
What It Takes to Succeed:<\/p>\n
Experience that set you up for success:<\/p>\n
\tAt least 2 years\u2019 post-articles experience in consulting, corporate finance, private equity, structured finance, or business development, OR
\n\t5 years\u2019 experience in consulting, corporate finance, private equity, structured finance, or business development\u00a0<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:<\/p>\n
\tPostgraduate qualification in finance, CFA, CA(SA) or MBA preferred.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\tStrong financial modelling skills in Excel
\n\tAdvanced PowerPoint presentation ability.\u00a0<\/p>\n
