Job Description<\/p>\n
\tJob purpose: To minimize the financial risk of the company by ensuring maximum collection of outstanding debt. The incumbent will take responsibility for the credit portfolio allocated, however would contribute to the overall collections and performance of the team.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or equivalent level of education essential.
\n\tBasic bookkeeping or accounting type qualification advantageous.
\n\tIf no qualification, then Accounting and Mathematics in Grade 12 (higher grade).
\n\t2+ years\u2019 experience in a collections\/ Coid credit control environment.
\n\tPrior private hospital experience advantageous.
\n\tAbility to grasp work man compensation commissioner (WCA) and Medical Scheme rules and requirements.
\n\tComputer proficiency \u2013 Excel & SAP system or similar.<\/p>\n
Key Outputs<\/p>\n
\tProactively manage and address financial risk.
\n\tWork within set collections targets and collect outstanding debt to ensure bad debt is kept to a minimum.
\n\tPrioritize collection of high value accounts in line with work man compensation commissioner (WCA)and Medical Scheme payment runs.
\n\tEscalate account queries and issues to Finance Manager\/Patient Service \/Collections Manager immediately, if this cannot be personally resolved.
\n\tEnsure hospitals have provided feedback alternatively follow up on outstanding issues until resolution achieved \u2013 escalate to Finance Manager\/Patient Service\/ Collections Manager were assistance required.
\n\tEnsure client satisfaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
\n\tBuild mutually beneficial relationships with Medical Schemes and\/or external stakeholder organizations\/bodies, allocated under portfolio and understand requirements and rules.
\n\tEnsure that external stakeholder organizations\/bodies requirements are understood and implemented.
\n\tDeal professionally with patients and representatives regarding outstanding monies.
\n\tLiaise with legal representatives regarding outstanding accounts \/ bad debt, where applicable.
\n\tReview bank statements daily and allocate payments to accounts.
\n\tEnsure payments match the remittance.
\n\tAccess Medical Scheme and or Comp easy websites (where applicable) to monitor monies paid v outstanding and update SAP system as required
\n\tObtain outstanding remittance if not received from Medical Schemes.
\n\tContact Medical Schemes to deal with short-payments, identify the root cause of the short-payment and escalate to the Group Collections Manager or hospital concerned through the Case Manager\/Financial Manager.
\n\tRegular follow up regarding feedback or action on short payments.
\n\tContact private patients to follow up on outstanding payments or payments to be made daily prior to discharge.
\n\tReview and understand age analysis in terms of managing debtors\u2019 days.
\n\tFollow up on all queries with Schemes in terms of their requirements.
\n\tDaily contact required with COID in terms of meeting submission requirements (i.e. all required documentation is available and submitted) and regarding outstanding payments.
\n\tCollaborate and build relationships with the various Departments in order to reduce the financial risk to the Company and to minimize outstanding collections.
\n\tContribute positively to the Collections Team and assist in reducing any delays and backlogs in the Department to maximize collections with as little delay as possible<\/p>\n
