Requirements<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate field campaigns to collect data relating to the hydrocensus data, hydrogeological setting, aquifer hydraulic properties, groundwater levels\/quality data and\/or mine dewatering requirements.
\n\tInterpreting technical data and information from fieldwork and other relevant sources such as historical documents and maps to build conceptual models for groundwater flow and quality.
\n\tDesigning and completing investigations (which may include groundwater measurements\/sampling or an ongoing monitoring regime) in order to confirm or further develop hydrogeological models.
\n\tUsing numerical and analytical modelling techniques to make predictions for future trends and impacts on groundwater flows and quality.
\n\tWork in close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
\n\tDelivering \u2018best practice\u2019 environmental standards, where needed in consultation with relevant government agencies and\/or to the client\u2019s requirements.
\n\tLiaise with clients and authorities.
\n\tCompile and write reports for submission to the client and necessary authorities.
\n\tContinuously improve and develop the services offered within the department.
\n\tDevelop a business plan for the department which includes services and selling opportunities.
\n\tAct as a key account manager where required, identifying business opportunities and ensure that a client centric approach is maintained at all times.
\n\tIdentify leads within the department and organize, plan and track proposals in response.
\n\tCo-ordinate and submit proposals.<\/p>\n
\tEffective workload and resource management for the department.
\n\tManage the performance management and probation processes for the team.
\n\tProvide mentorship to and develop of the team.
\n\tReport on departmental performance at various levels and that the department achieves revenue targets.
\n\tManage the Recruitment and Selection process for the department in line with your workforce plan.
\n\tFacilitate the appropriate onboarding process for all new employees.
\n\tManage financial expenditure for the department against the budget.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tA Post Graduate degree in Hydrogeology\/ Water Science\/ Hydrology or similar.
\n\tManagement Development Programme (MDP) or similar qualification (beneficial).
\n\tProject Management Certificate (beneficial).
\n\tRegistered with a professional body such as SACNASP.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tEight years or more in the relevant field, preferably within the consulting would be beneficial.
\n\tAt least eight years conducting specialist studies.
\n\tAt least five years exposure to the mining industry
\n\tFive or more years management experience is desirable, as well as experience leading teams of 5+ staff.<\/p>\n
