Minimum Requirements
\nQualifications<\/p>\n
\tChartered Accountant (CA)
\n\tFinancial Accountant Certification
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent (NQF Level 7)<\/p>\n
Functional Training<\/p>\n
\tSAGE<\/p>\n
Regulated Training<\/p>\n
\tTax and IFRS\/IAS rules<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t5 years industry-related experience within the Cargo, Freight, or Transport industry
\n\t10 years proven work experience as a Financial Manager or in a similar role
\n\t10 years in a management capacity within a finance department<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tExcellent math skills with strong attention to detail
\n\tAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Accpac
\n\tSolid knowledge of accounting regulations
\n\tIn-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures<\/p>\n

\tAbility to manage, mentor, and guide staff to meet the company\u2019s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements

Primary Responsibilities & Duties
\nMain Purpose of the Job<\/p>\n
\tTo maintain complete and accurate records of revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities, ensuring the integrity of financial information and achieving clean audits.<\/p>\n
Leadership and Team Management<\/p>\n
\tLead and mentor a focused finance team
\n\tFoster a high-performance culture based on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
\n\tProvide support to ensure accurate and timely execution of financial processes<\/p>\n
Financial Operations and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tOversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with standards
\n\tEnsure accuracy in general ledger, cashbook, accounts payable, receivable, revenue, and fixed assets
\n\tLiaise with external and internal auditors
\n\tMaintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
\n\tDemonstrate thorough knowledge of IFRS standards, VAT, income tax, and transfer pricing<\/p>\n
Financial Planning and Analysis<\/p>\n
\tLead the annual budgeting process, including coordination, consolidation, and variance analysis
\n\tConduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decisions and operational efficiency
\n\tPrepare and present financial forecasts, scenario planning, and performance reports to senior leadership<\/p>\n
Cash Flow and Treasury Management<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and maintain cash flow forecasting models
\n\tOptimize liquidity and working capital
\n\tManage banking relationships and funding requirements
\n\tHandle bank guarantees<\/p>\n
Mergers and Acquisitions<\/p>\n
\tSupport financial due diligence, valuation modeling, and integration planning
\n\tWork with legal, operational, and external advisors to assess financial risks and opportunities<\/p>\n
Systems and Process Improvement<\/p>\n
\tDrive automation and improve financial systems and reporting tools
\n\tImplement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of finance operations<\/p>\n
