\n\tThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective production of high-quality products in alignment with daily and weekly plans. This role emphasizes safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, with performance evaluated regularly against specific goals and competencies. The incumbent will also play a key role in maintaining a safe working<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tNQF Level 6 qualification or Diploma in Engineering or Production-related studies
\n\tStrong understanding of production processes, including hygiene, safety, and food handling standards
\n\tExperience in the pet food industry will be an advantage<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nProduction & Operations<\/p>\n
\tEnsure consistent product quality through process control and corrective actions.
\n\tOperate equipment per SOPs with qualified personnel.
\n\tMonitor production progress and resolve issues to meet targets.
\n\tMinimize waste and optimize resource allocation.
\n\tPerform equipment changeovers and adjustments as needed.<\/p>\n
Quality Management<\/p>\n
\tComply with QMS standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP, BRC).
\n\tMaintain and update quality documentation.
\n\tEnsure team adherence to procedures and policies.
\n\tParticipate in HACCP and Food Safety teams if required.<\/p>\n
Asset Care & Maintenance<\/p>\n
\tPerform and oversee preventive maintenance tasks.
\n\tInspect equipment and initiate necessary repairs.
\n\tSupport maintenance planning and trend analysis.
\n\tRecord breakdowns and provide feedback on corrective actions.<\/p>\n
Line Performance Optimization<\/p>\n
\tImprove line efficiency and availability.
\n\tUtilize OEE systems effectively.
\n\tAddress underperformance through problem-solving.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership & Development<\/p>\n
\tLead team to meet quality, safety, productivity, and cost goals.
\n\tTrain and coach crew; maintain skills matrix.
\n\tManage employee relations and performance.
\n\tPlan and allocate manpower effectively.<\/p>\n
Health, Safety & Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tReport and resolve unsafe conditions and behaviors.
\n\tEnsure presence of first aiders and safety reps.
\n\tConduct ongoing hazard analyses.<\/p>\n
Innovation & Continuous Improvement<\/p>\n
\tSupport site-wide improvement initiatives.
\n\tPromote company values and team innovation.
