PURPOSE<\/p>\n
\tThis position exists to ensure construction and maintenance of drains.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tInterpret blueprint and specifications to determine the required layout and dimensions of rebar.
\n\tCut and shape steel using tools such as pliers, wire cutters, and rebar benders.
\n\tPlace steel in the correct position and secure it using wire or plastic ties.
\n\tWeld or bolt rebar pieces together as required.
\n\tAssist shuttering carpenters with form work or pouring concrete depending on the site size and staffing.
\n\tEnsure that all rebar is installed to the required standards and specifications.
\n\tCollaborate with the construction team to ensure that the project is completed on time and to the required quality standards.
\n\tMaintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with health safety regulations.<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tProven experience as a steel fixer.
\n\tAbility to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.\u00a0
\n\tStrong knowledge of rebar installation techniques and procedures.
\n\tExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
\n\tAbility to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.
\n\tStrong attention to details and accuracy.
\n\tPhysically fit and able to work in a constructive environment.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of Grade 12.
\n\tKnowledge of civil Engineering construction process.<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 3 years \u00a0experience in steel fixing.
\n\tKnowledge of steel fixing and understanding of bending schedule will be advantageous.<\/p>\n
OTHER SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS<\/p>\n
\tGood understating of safety management (ISO45001, ISO14001.
\n\tMust have a good understanding of valuing diversity.
\n\tMust have an advanced understanding of conflict handling.
\n\tMust have an advanced understanding of listening.<\/p>\n
