Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tPostgraduate qualification in commerce, accounting, finance, economics or equivalent.\u00a0
\n\tStudying towards a CFA\/CAIA\/Masters degree or CFA\/CAIA\/Masters degree holder (Advantageous).\u00a0
\n\t5 \u2013 7 years of relevant investment and research experience. Be able to link sector research to asset class\/investment implications.\u00a0
\n\tFAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment\u00a0
\n\tSector research experience is an advantage.\u00a0
\n\tFlexible, responsive and self-starting personality with keen attention to detail and ability to work across different teams within the division.\u00a0
\n\tMust possess the desire and ability to work in a collaborative and intensive team-oriented environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Duties:<\/p>\n
\tConducting fundamental and thematic research on sectors and industries.\u00a0
\n\tSupport Head: Research & Innovation and Sector Specialists through research, data analytics and financial modelling.\u00a0
\n\tPrepare research reports that are aimed at enhancing PIC\u2019s knowledge base on various sectors and generating investment ideas.\u00a0
\n\tUndertake thematic research into new and emerging industries to identify investment opportunities for the PIC.\u00a0
\n\tMonitor global and domestic sector trends and developments to assess the impact of the PIC portfolio.\u00a0
\n\tHave an understanding of the macroeconomy and how it affects the different sectors.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in developing sector and sub-sector investment strategies.\u00a0
\n\tProvide market analysis and financial analysis for unlisted transactions. Form part of the due diligence team.\u00a0
\n\tUndertake ad hoc research requests from EXCO and board subcommittees as well as investment divisions.\u00a0
\n\tSectors to be covered include manufacturing, ICT and transport.\u00a0
\n\tProficient user of Bloomberg or similar tools\/ applications\/platforms.<\/p>\n
