\tITB Flexible Packaging Solutions (ITB) is a flexible plastic packaging manufacturer and part of the Novus Holdings Group. ITB produces an array packaging for the FMCG and food markets. Its products include retail bags, security bags, FFS food packaging, heavy duty sacks and carrier bags which are distributed across South Africa and abroad.<\/p>\n
Key Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tSetting up of the co-extruders in accordance with the Job card requirements and guidelines as specified in the Extrusion Start-up and procedures and machine sheets.
\n\tInspect and record quality at the beginning and throughout the shift
\n\tUse co-extrusion trouble -shooting guide when discrepancies are detected.
\n\tConstantly monitor width, colour and clarity to avoid out of spec situation
\n\tProvide sample to QA for inspection at the end of each and every roll
\n\tRemove all out of spec rolls from production and flag it.
\n\tComplete identification ticket for every roll should the job require further processing and insert it thereon.
\n\tInspect pallets for conformance in conjunction with QAT.
\n\tRegularly check production status of each job to efficiently change jobs on completion of an order.
\n\tRecord an ongoing tally of production of production in individual co-extrusion machine production books including on hold stations.
\n\tTo continuously perform trouble shooting on machines whenever necessary.<\/p>\n
Educational Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tHave completed Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.<\/p>\n
Experience Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge of ISO 9001: 2001 Quality standards.
\n\tAt least 4 years\u2019 experience in the plastic industry (packaging)
\n\tAt least 2 years\u2019 experience as a Co-Extrusion operator with basic computer knowledge.
\n\tCertificate in Blown Film an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Skills and Competencies\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMust have a good knowledge of how the co-extrusion machine work.
\n\tAbility to adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure pressure, speed, temperature, and general operation.
\n\tAbility to set up and start co-extrusion machine and ability to calculate and achieve best possible OEE
\n\tAbility to calculate weight per metre on given film and micron size.
\n\tAbility to gauge temperature for processing low \/high density.
\n\tAbility to calculate BUR on given diameter and film size.
\n\tAbility to calculate DDR on given BUR, die gap and micron size.
\n\tAbility to calculate weight on given LD, LLD percentages and the weight of the total mix.<\/p>\n
