Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Financial Systems Management<\/p>\n
\tOversee the financial system processes related to billing and revenue recognition, ensuring timely and accurate closure of billing cycles.
\n\t\u00a0Maintain and update financial structures such as cost centres and profit centres to support effective reporting and analysis.
\n\tManage the chart of accounts to ensure it remains consistent, accurate, and aligned with organizational reporting requirements and financial controls.
\n\tMonitor system to ensure all transactions are posted daily.<\/p>\n
Management & Financial Reporting<\/p>\n
\tPrepare complete sets of monthly management accounts with supporting schedules.
\n\tPrepare the monthly fees report, ensuring accurate billing and promptly identifying any variances or discrepancies.
\n\tProduce ad hoc financial and operational reports to support decision-making.
\n\t\u00a0Review allocation of monthly actuals versus budget into support service templates and prepare variance analyses.
\n\tReview and analyse management accounts for subsidiary entities.<\/p>\n
Audit and Year-End Reporting<\/p>\n
\tPrepare audit files and supporting documentation for external auditors.
\n\tCoordinate the collection and submission of audit-related information across departments.
\n\tAssist in the preparation and review of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.<\/p>\n
Regulatory Compliance<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and submit monthly VAT returns and respond to related audits.
\n\tComplete and submit STATSSA reports as required.
\n\tGenerate and present BBBEE management reports.<\/p>\n
Budgeting and Financial Planning<\/p>\n
\tAssist in the development and consolidation of the annual budget.
\n\tMonitor and update income statement budget rollouts.
\n\tConduct weekly petty cash counts and approve reconciliations.<\/p>\n
Operational and Ad Hoc Duties<\/p>\n
\tAct as Commissioner of Oaths for internal documentation.
\n\tAssist with screening and onboarding of new new AP vendors; maintain and update vendor records.
\n\tSubmit SARS e-filing for transfer duty payments.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tBCom Accounting or equivalent postgraduate qualification such as SAICA\/ACCA\/SAIPA.
\n\tCompleted articles.
\n\tMinimum of 8 years\u2019 experience in financial and cost accounting, preferably within a legal or professional services firm.<\/p>\n
