\n\tAnalysis of pesticide residues in fresh produce using the QuEChERS extraction technique.
\n\tOptimize the use of the equipment in the preparative section of the laboratory.
\n\tEnsure timely service delivery to customers.
\n\tSelf-Management.
\n\tMinimize financial Risks.
\n\tImplementation of QMS (ISO 17025).
\n\tManagement of critical consumables.<\/p>\n
Experience required:<\/p>\n
\tPreparation of chemicals, solutions, and standards.
\n\tSample extraction processes.
\n\tBasic knowledge of chromatographic instrumentation.
\n\tAdherence to good laboratory practice.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma – Analytical Chemistry<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Method Validation\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that any changes are made to the methods if necessary.
\n\tEnsure equipment maintenance and calibration.
\n\tParticipate in proficiency testing.<\/p>\n
Quality Control<\/p>\n
\tPerforms Internal verification of Equipment.
\n\tEnsures that the accommodation and environmental conditions of the lab are controlled and recorded accordingly.
\n\tChecking quality and suitability of chemicals.
\n\tRecording quality controls.<\/p>\n
Technical processes – implementation<\/p>\n

\n\tPeroxide value extraction method.
\n\tMoisture content.
\n\tPesticide analyses
\n\tPreparation of reference standards (weighing, mixing filtering).
\n\tPreparation of daily solvents and standards.
\n\tParticipation in proficiency testing schemes.
\n\tInstrumentation set-up and sample run.<\/p>\n
Meetings<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in laboratory staff meetings.<\/p>\n
Implementation of QMS (ISO 17025)<\/p>\n
\tImplement standard QMS protocols.
\n\tConsistent and correct application of analytical methods.
\n\tCompliance to statutory requirements.
\n\tRecords all non-conformances observed for further investigation.<\/p>\n
Communication, Advising and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tComment and report timely on irregularities.
\n\tEffective communication and reporting that leads to improved internal relationships and decisions.
\n\tEnsures that all test results comply with the documented quality control criteria.<\/p>\n
Knowledge required:<\/p>\n
\tImplementation of the LIMS for traceability (added advantage)
\n\tTechnical processes of Mycotoxin\/Pesticides\/Dairy analysis in a myriad of matrices.
\n\tGeneral knowledge of chromatographic instruments.<\/p>\n
Skills required:<\/p>\n
\tWell-developed interpersonal skills.
\n\tExcellent oral and written communication skills\u00a0
\n\tSound technical record keeping techniques.
\n\tAbility to work under pressure.
