The role supports business objectives through strategic supplier management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Job description<br \/>\nProcurement Strategy &amp; Leadership<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with the organisation\u2019s objectives.<br \/>\n\tAssist with the initial setup of the Procurement Department.<br \/>\n\tDefine, develop, and manage procurement processes, procedures, and systems.<br \/>\n\tDevelop corporate procurement standards, practices &amp; procedures.<br \/>\n\tForecast future procurement needs based on market trends, company growth, and operational requirements.<br \/>\n\tAnticipate organisational and market evolution and adapt sourcing strategies accordingly.<br \/>\n\tSupport various business functions by sourcing materials and services in line with project requirements.<br \/>\n\tDefine financial models to assist management in determining purchasing strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Sourcing &amp; Supplier Management<\/p>\n<p>\tIdentify, select, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.<br \/>\n\tEstablish and manage relationships with preferred suppliers.<br \/>\n\tIdentify and develop new capable best-in-class suppliers in cooperation with Business Heads.<br \/>\n\tSet up and manage supplier contracts.<br \/>\n\tNegotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favourable deals.<br \/>\n\tPrepare and lead supplier negotiations.<br \/>\n\tMonitor vendor\/supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.<br \/>\n\tMonitor supplier compliance to contracted SLA\u2019s and test existing contracts<\/p>\n<p>Procurement Operations &amp; Process Efficiency<\/p>\n<p>\tManage the end-to-end procurement process from requisition to purchase order to delivery.<br \/>\n\tEnsure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and receipts.<br \/>\n\tOversee inventory levels, ensuring availability without excess.<br \/>\n\tWork closely with the Operations Manager, Warehouse Teams, and IT Support Staff to avoid wastage.<br \/>\n\tMaintain detailed records of all procurement transactions and vendor contracts.<br \/>\n\tAnalyse spending trends and work to optimise cost-efficiency.<br \/>\n\tIdentify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.<br \/>\n\tEnsure appropriate inventory levels in line with operational needs<\/p>\n<p>Policy, Compliance &amp; Risk Management<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure that all group-wide procurement policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.<br \/>\n\tEnsure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and organisational policies.<br \/>\n\tCompliance and Corporate Governance.<br \/>\n\tImplementation of appropriate BBBEE initiatives.<br \/>\n\tManage procurement risk by monitoring market conditions and ensuring continuity of supply.<\/p>\n<p>Budgeting, Reporting &amp; Performance Management<\/p>\n<p>\tPrepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring effective cost control.<br \/>\n\tManage and achieve benefits ensuring transparency of costs to track savings.<br \/>\n\tPrepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.<br \/>\n\tMaintain accurate records of procurement requests and spend tracking.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholder &amp; Cross-Functional Collaboration<\/p>\n<p>\tEstablish close contact with business units to understand internal demand and service quality expectations.<br \/>\n\tWork closely with internal departments (Finance, Marketing, Operations) to align procurement with organisational needs.<br \/>\n\tEnsure effective implementation and roll-out of corporate and regional contracts in collaboration with Business Heads.<\/p>\n<p>People Management<\/p>\n<p>\tLead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to meet goals.<br \/>\n\tProvide training and development opportunities for team members.<br \/>\n\tProvide direction and guidance by clearly communicating team goals, expectations, and priorities.<br \/>\n\tOffer ongoing coaching and mentorship to ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities as well as enhance their skills, knowledge and confidence.<br \/>\n\tConduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for growth and development.<br \/>\n\tFoster a culture of continuous improvement.<br \/>\n\tMotivate team members by recognising their achievements and contributions to the team and company.
