\tBachelor\u2019s degree in commerce, Law, Risk Management, or related field
\n\tBeneficial: AIISA or equivalent insurance qualification
\n\tPreferred: Postgraduate qualification in Insurance, Strategy, Public Policy or equivalent<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 7\u201310 years in short-term insurance or financial services, with at least 5 years in middle management roles
\n\tDemonstrated experience in managing strategic partnerships and public sector engagements
\n\tProven track record of managing diverse distribution channels and leading high-performing teams

Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategic Portfolio Leadership<\/p>\n
\t\u00a0Develop and implement a national portfolio management framework that aligns with Sasria\u2019s growth strategy and transformation agenda.
\n\tLead the segmentation, evaluation, and profitability monitoring of portfolios across all agent companies, with a data-driven and risk-informed approach.
\n\tServe as the escalation and integration point for all portfolio managers, ensuring harmonised execution across the channel.
\n\tDrive innovation in product and service delivery through feedback loops from agent and client performance insights.<\/p>\n
Strategic Partnership and Stakeholder Relations<\/p>\n
\tEstablish and manage strategic partnerships with key entities including the Government Security Cluster, National Treasury-linked forums, and industry bodies like SAIA.
\n\tIdentify opportunities for collaborative projects aimed at strengthening market resilience, awareness, and disaster risk financing innovation.
\n\tRepresent Sasria in key forums to enhance strategic positioning and influence within public-private collaborative platforms.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Financial and Business Oversight<\/p>\n
\tOwn the budgetary planning and monitoring processes for the Portfolio Management function.
\n\tAnalyse financial trends across agent portfolios; proactively address underperformance with recovery and transformation plans.
\n\tOversee development of revenue growth strategies and track Gross Written Premium (GWP) performance per distribution partner.
\n\tChampion data quality and analytics for decision-making and stakeholder reporting.<\/p>\n
Operational Excellence and Compliance<\/p>\n
\tDefine and enforce operational standards, portfolio governance, and SLA frameworks for all portfolio teams.
\n\tEnsure audit findings and regulatory compliance matters are proactively addressed and closed.
\n\tDevelop systems and tools to enhance transparency, performance tracking, and cross-functional alignment (claims, underwriting, and actuarial).
\n\tLead key internal forums to ensure integrated risk and compliance management across stakeholder engagements.<\/p>\n
Customer Experience and Channel Development<\/p>\n
\tEnsure a client-centric portfolio model that prioritises service reliability, responsiveness, and stakeholder value.
\n\tSupport onboarding and operationalisation of alternative or emerging distribution channels.
\n\tDrive due diligence processes for new partners, ensuring robust contractual frameworks and mapped service workflows.
\n\tLead roadshows, market research efforts, and awareness campaigns with a focus on under-insured segments.<\/p>\n
People Leadership and Capacity Development<\/p>\n
\tProvide strategic leadership to Portfolio Managers and their teams; define performance goals and conduct quarterly reviews.
\n\tEmbed a culture of high performance, agility, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
\n\tMentor team members for succession planning and cross-functional mobility.
\n\tBuild internal advocacy for collaborative stakeholder management.\u00a0<\/p>\n
