\nReporting to the Manager: Mechanical & Electrical, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following, inter alia:<\/p>\n
\tReading and interpreting drawings\/works orders detailing layout and specifications.
\n\tStripping and repairing of all mechanical plant and equipment.
\n\tTesting, using testing equipment and keep records of tests on all lofting equipment.
\n\tAligning, turning and\/or overhauling of pumps and motors.
\n\tConstructing\/ welding of steel structures using welding equipment and applying finishing procedures, sealing joints etc.
\n\tInspecting works prior to commissioning and communicating with the immediate superior with regards to tests, adjustments, and functionality of the installation.
\n\tExamining seams, joints and welds on systems, fixtures, and fittings.
\n\tCompleting \u2019critical inspection point\u2019 cycle and attending to the servicing of mechanical plant and equipment at prescribed intervals.
\n\tRemoving and replacing valves, seals and filtration devices controlling high and low pressure on water reticulation pumps and plants.
\n\tInspecting and identifying faults in the system, isolating defective area and commencing with repair sequence.
\n\tCutting\/removing and replacing defective sections using welding techniques and\/or couplings to secure joins.
\n\tCo-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the section.
\n\tEnsuring that the team is working in line with health & safety standards.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tA valid grade 12 Certificate
\n\tMust be in a possession of a valid Trade Test Certificate for Fitter and Turner
\n\tA minimum of 2 – 3 years practical experience as a Fitter and Turner
\n\tCandidates must be willing to perform standby duties
\n\tProficiency in both English and isiZulu would be advantageous.
\n\tMust be in a possession of a valid, clean code 08 drivers\u2019 license is essential.<\/p>\n
