Key Task & Accountabilities<\/p>\n
Functional Management<\/p>\n
\tThis role reports into the CFO and its responsibilities span across all legal entities within the Group.
\n\tManagement of the monthly IFRS-based reporting process and preparation of the annual financial statements for all entities; support subsidiary company financial accounting processes.
\n\tEffectively manage the quarterly shareholder and Board reporting requirements, including input to the President\u2019s report.
\n\tResponsible for managing and coordinating the external auditing process for annual financial statements and other relevant processes.
\n\tManage financial systems, general ledger process and internal controls, to ensure the integrity of the financial reporting system.
\n\tEnsure timeous and accurate delivery of statutory and regulatory reporting, including solvency reporting on a SAM basis.
\n\tPerform analytical reviews of IFRS and regulatory results and determine reasons for variances.
\n\tEnsure a clean audit report in relation to all regulatory and statutory reporting.
\n\tIdentify opportunities to enhance capital management and solvency.
\n\tIdentify contravention of compliance and implement controls to ensure all compliance requirements are continuously met.
\n\tEnsure best practice solutions for the company are implemented through researching markets and understanding changes in legislation.
\n\tNetwork through memberships of various, appropriate associations.
\n\tEffectively manage investment accounting and reporting activities; ensure that investment transactions are recorded in the accounting system on a timely basis and in line with IFRS and the Group reporting requirements.
\n\tPrepare and submit investment reports for Board review and shareholder submission.
\n\tManagement of investment processes and operations while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements.
\n\tCalculation of Tax and management of direct and indirect Tax submissions.
\n\tLeading teams of people in line with the Bryte guiding principles and culture, whilst coaching and mentoring individuals within a results-oriented environment. Act as an ambassador for the culture and desired behaviours.<\/p>\n

Education & Experience<\/p>\n
\tCA(SA)
\n\t8 or more years\u2019 experience in relevant field
\n\t5 years minimum leadership experience
\n\tExposure to insurance (life, general and reinsurance)
\n\tExposure to Investment accounting and management\u00a0
\n\tSound knowledge of IFRS, including Insurance Accounting standards
\n\tKnowledge of the Insurance Act, including solvency requirements
\n\tKnowledge of SAM solvency legislation and reporting requirements<\/p>\n
