\tResponsible for making batches of in-specification products.<\/p>\n
Required outputs:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Receiving, Storage & Issue of Raw Materials Associated with Relevant Plant:<\/p>\n
\tResponsible for making job cards and checking that the correct raw materials are received as per relevant job cards.
\n\tCo-ordinate other relevant parties, i.e. raw materials, planning, etc in order to expedite production of product batches.<\/p>\n
Plant Duties:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure production vessels and pipes are drained\/cleaned prior to manufacturing, i.e. avoid cross contamination of products.
\n\tEnsure that manufacturing instructions (SOP\u2019s) are followed.
\n\tFollow laid down operating Works Instructions for the operation of plant equipment.
\n\tComplete appropriate log sheets where\/when applicable.
\n\tEnsure that product samples as per sampling instructions are taken.
\n\tRequired to drive a forklift and to maintain medical fitness to drive a forklift in order to successfully renew the forklift driver\u2019s license annually.
\n\tMeet production\/packaging quality standards as specified by the incumbent\u2019s Production Plan.
\n\tComplete relevant quality control schedules and report quality control problems to the<\/p>\n
Team Leader.<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to laid down company rules and regulations.
\n\tEnsure that the plant is always clean and in a safe condition at all times.
\n\tWork in other work areas other than the incumbent\u2019s normal work area as directed by the Team Leader.
\n\tWhen production demand drops required to carry out other ad hoc tasks as directed by Management.
\n\tAssist with stock takes.
\n\tAssist Management with problem solving tasks.
\n\tReport all non-conformance issues to Management.
\n\tSign all relevant areas on job cards pertaining to the incumbent\u2019s level of authority.
\n\tAttend retraining on all relevant plant Works Instructions, SOP\u2019s for the areas under the incumbent\u2019s control every 2 years.
\n\tAssist with conducting of planned job observations (PJO\u2019s) on all the Works Instructions and SOP\u2019s on other areas not under the incumbent\u2019s control.<\/p>\n
Maintenance:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that machinery\/equipment is kept in good and safe working conditions.
\n\tIdentify and maintain stocks of critical spares for the incumbent\u2019s plants.
\n\tEnsure that maintenance costs on the plants under the incumbent\u2019s areas of responsibility are kept to a minimum.
\n\tReport all equipment breakdowns to the Production Manager after submitting maintenance job card to the Maintenance Dept.
\n\tInitiate ordering of spares via the Production Manager.
\n\tSupervise maintenance contractors ensuring that maintenance jobs are effectively completed.
\n\tMinimise downtime by reporting breakdowns and ensuring repairs are carried out timeously.
\n\tCo-ordinate preventative maintenance systems for equipment under the incumbent\u2019s control.
\n\tResponsible for day-to-day maintenance of the plant\/equipment under the incumbent\u2019s control.<\/p>\n
Research & Development:<\/p>\n
\tWork with\/assist R&D personnel on the production of trial batches of new products on plants under his control.<\/p>\n
Ad hoc tasks:<\/p>\n
\tOn occasion is required to carry out miscellaneous legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as instructed by the Team Leader.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12.
\n\tDiploma or certificate in chemical plant operations related courses advantageous
\n\tAble to drive a forklift, be medically fit to drive a forklift and be in possession of a valid forklift driver\u2019s license. Required to maintain medical fitness to drive a forklift in order to successfully have the forklift driver\u2019s license renewed.
\n\tMinimum of 2 years\u2019 relevant work experience.
\n\tBasic computer literacy skills.
\n\tAbility to work independently as well as within a team.
\n\tPossess a sound knowledge of production procedures.
\n\tKnowledge of SHEQ Management Systems standards\/requirements.<\/p>\n
