Contract Manager<\/p>\n
\tOur client, a trusted leader in group purchasing, procurement strategy, and contract management within the higher education and public sector space, is seeking a\u00a0Contract Manager\u00a0to join their dynamic team based in\u00a0Midrand, Johannesburg.\u00a0
\n\tThis is a\u00a0six-month contract position\u00a0that offers an opportunity to work with member institutions across South Africa, managing high-value contracts, ensuring cost savings, and strengthening supplier and stakeholder relationships.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Commerce, Business Management, or a related field.
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in a corporate procurement environment.
\n\tProven expertise in structuring business transactions and advising on procurement strategy.
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework and business processes.
\n\tStrong sourcing, negotiation, and supplier evaluation skills.
\n\tAdvanced proficiency in Office 365 and e-procurement systems.
\n\tExcellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
\n\tStrong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
\n\tWillingness to travel frequently within South Africa.<\/p>\n
Key Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tNegotiate, manage, and oversee group-purchasing contracts to ensure maximum value for money and measurable cost savings.
\n\tManage procurement services across an allocated portfolio, tracking supplier performance and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
\n\tDevelop and implement procurement strategies in collaboration with member institutions.
\n\tLead the tender and contract award process, ensuring outcomes are legally defensible and transparent.
\n\tManage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with the company\u2019s policies, procedures, and standards.
\n\tDrive the implementation and monitoring of the e-tender and catalogue system to streamline procurement processes.
\n\tLiaise with stakeholders, suppliers, and member institutions to identify new contract opportunities.
\n\tProvide accurate and timely reporting to the CEO and other forums on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
\n\tSupervise and manage a support administrator, ensuring effective team performance.
\n\tRepresent the company at member forums, user groups, and regional committees, promoting the organisation\u2019s services.<\/p>\n
