RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
\tObtain required documents from relevant entities when gathering information for litigation cases.
\n\tAssist in the filing of complaints, motions, petitions and other pleading with various Courts, administrative and \u00a0quasi-judicial bodies.
\n\tAssist in preparing legal opinions, working papers and reports on legal and compliance work.
\n\tAssist in preparing briefs and preliminary drafts of legislative material relating to the CETA.
\n\tDevelop and maintain a database of laws, judgements, contracts, precedents and other related material relevant to the CETA\u2019s operations.
\n\tCoordinate and provide administrative support to the Legal and Compliance unit to ensure the effective and efficient coordination of policy development efforts and the monitoring of policy enforcement throughout the CETA.
\n\tConduct research on factual and historical background of specific cases and outcomes relevant to the CETA\u2019s operations.
\n\tConduct research on the latest developments in the legal system and other relevant matters necessary for the preparation of legal opinions.
\n\tMonitor the status of on-going litigations and provide update reports to the Senior Manager: Legal and Compliance and other relevant stakeholders.
\n\tCoordinate input from all business units in the development of policies for the CETA, consistent with the strategic goals and objectives.
\n\tIdentify gaps in current policies and related processes and advise the relevant business unit.
\n\tEstablish and maintain a policy repository accessible to all stakeholders.
\n\tCompile reports on policy changes for submission to the Board and relevant Board Committees for approval in consultation with the Board Secretary.\u00a0
\n\tConvene and serve as secretary of Policy Development Committee.
\n\tSupport and provide evidence to all internal and external audit requirements.
\n\tReview related Standard Operating Procedures in consultation with the Manager: Legal and Compliance to ensure business processes\u2019 optimisation.
\n\tAssist in dispute resolutions.
\n\tSupervise, empower, coach and \/mentor interns that are assigned to the business unit.
\n\tContribute to the financial sustainability of CETA by ensure no wasteful and fruitless expenditures are incurred in the area of responsibility.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n
\tHonour\u2019s Degree \/ Qualification in Law \/ Corporate Law at NQF 8 or higher.
\n\tBe an Admitted Attorney and with valid membership with the LPC.
\n\tSpecialisation in company Law \/ Labour \/ Criminal and Civil \/ Contract Management will be an advantage.
\n\tMust possess atleast 5 (five) years relevant experience in corporate law or legal and compliance function in a highly regulated environment.
\n\tExperience in policy development.
\n\tKnowledge of administrative, civil, criminal, corporate and contract law.
\n\tKnowledge of all legislation all applicable legislations.<\/p>\n
