As the HR Manager South Africa, you will be responsible for leading the execution of human resources strategies that are aligned with the organization\u2019s business objectives and regulatory obligations, including B-BBEE compliance, while cultivating a high-performance culture, enhancing employee engagement, supporting talent development, and ensuring excellence in HR operations.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Strategic Partnership<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with the MD and senior management to develop HR strategies that support business objectives.
\n\tSupport workforce planning, organisational design, and talent initiatives across the country.
\n\tBuild and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
\n\tDrive\/manage HR aspects of organisational change initiatives.<\/p>\n
Employee Relations & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with South African labour laws and company policies.
\n\tLead the company\u2019s B-BBEE strategy, ensuring effective execution, monitoring, and reporting to achieve compliance targets.
\n\tMaintain up-to-date knowledge of B-BBEE legislation and codes of good practice.
\n\tDevelop and continuously improve HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
\n\tManage employment contracts, employee records, and HRIS data quality
\n\tHandle employee queries and foster an inclusive environment<\/p>\n
Talent Management & Development<\/p>\n
\tOversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
\n\tWork closely with line managers to meet staffing needs.
\n\tSupport leadership development through coaching and targeted training.
\n\tDrive talent reviews, succession planning, and skills gap analysis.
\n\tDevelop and deliver training programs to enhance employee performance and career growth.<\/p>\n
Employee Engagement & Well-being<\/p>\n
\tLead employee engagement and well-being initiatives aligned with South African operations and the regional HR strategy.
\n\tPromote open communication and a collaborative work environment.
\n\tFacilitate engagement action planning based on employee survey feedback.<\/p>\n
Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tManage the performance management process to ensure meaningful and regular appraisals.
\n\tGuide managers on effective feedback and performance improvement plans.<\/p>\n
Policy Development<\/p>\n
\tImplement and review HR policies to ensure alignment with company goals and legal requirements
\n\tPromote continuous improvement and adopt HR best practices.<\/p>\n
HR Analytics<\/p>\n
\tPrepare HR reports and analytics to support decision-making.
\n\tMonitor key HR metrics such as turnover, time-to-hire, and engagement scores.<\/p>\n
MUST HAVE:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
\n\tMinimum 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role in an international organisation, preferably in the shipping, maritime, or logistics industry.
\n\tProven experience in managing B-BBEE compliance, including strategy, reporting, and audits.
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation.
\n\tProven background managing payroll systems (e.g., Sage VIP) and HR service delivery in a logistics or shipping context
\n\tExperience in talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, and HR operations.
\n\tStrong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure<\/p>\n
