As a Financial Accountant, you will report into the Financial Controller and will be responsible for the accounting and reporting function of entities within the Local Silo in the Finance department. The successful candidate will be required to be highly numerate, well organised; deadline driven and have the ability to improve processes. Attention to detail and accuracy is non-negotiable.<\/p>\n
What you\u2019ll be doing<\/p>\n
Monthly management reports \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPosting of invoices, accruals and prepayments \u00a0
\n\tPrepare the expense analysis, marketing analysis, prepayments and accruals & foreign exchange schedules \u00a0
\n\tAnalysis of expenses ensuring all expenses have been categorized and allocated correctly \u00a0
\n\tPrepare internal (intercompany & intergroup) billing, including invoicing & reconciliations \u00a0
\n\tMatching of open items on a weekly basis \u00a0
\n\tRun FX in Navision & prepare FX reconciliations \u00a0
\n\tProactively resolve any queries raised \u00a0
\n\tPreparation of monthly income statement and balance sheet reconciliations \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tPreparation of all fixed asset recons & review the fixed asset register ensuring that assets are captured and depreciated in line with fixed asset policies, scrapping old assets and revisiting estimated useful lives. \u00a0
\n\tRun depreciation & amortisation \u00a0
\n\tCapitalization of internally generated intangible assets\u00a0<\/p>\n
Reporting\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly consulting, legal & audit fee schedules \u00a0
\n\tPrepare marketing analysis \u00a0
\n\tPrepare necessary commentary for month end and quarter end reporting and Flux Analysis for both Income statement and Balance sheet \u00a0
\n\tPrepare monthly Income statement files, including commentaries per expense type and brand. \u00a0
\n\tAssist with the procurement section of BBBEE reporting \u00a0
\n\tPrepare and sign off on all reconciliations \u00a0
\n\tPrepare and sign off on all SOX control evidence, reconciliations, and templates\u00a0<\/p>\n
Operations \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tReconciliation and posting of Corporate Card expenditure \u00a0
\n\tEnsure accurate capturing and posting of all VAT entries \u00a0
\n\tEnsure all contractual relationships up to date\u00a0<\/p>\n
Treasury & Cashflow \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPrepare all intercompany & inter-group accounts payment packs and ensure balances confirmed monthly \u25aa Ensure all customers are collected & vendors settled \u00a0
\n\tPrepare and comment on all aging reports & open items \u00a0
\n\tCommunicate cash requirements with Financial Controller \u00a0
\n\tFirst review of all payment packs for local & foreign payments \u00a0
\n\tFirst review of all payments on Electronic banking platforms\u00a0<\/p>\n
Audits \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPreparation and review of internal and external audit files \u00a0
\n\tConsult with the statutory team to ensure all queries resolved timeously\u00a0<\/p>\n
Team Leadership \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCo-ordinate functions in the team to ensure that all team members are working effectively and able to deliver reporting on time \u00a0
\n\tEnsure best business practice is embedded across all processes and functions \u00a0
\n\tEnsure team key deliverables are met on time and accurately. \u00a0
\n\tProvide guidance, mentoring and support to direct report to ensure the team is working efficiently and coherently \u00a0
