\tEnsure that all payment requests received by Albaraka Bank Limited, are processed in accordance with the Bank\u2019s internal rules, adherence to Shariah compliance, Compliance with International Banking norms & practices & maintaining excellent client service.<\/p>\n
Trade Payment Processing\u00a0<\/p>\n
Local and International application vetting\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tVerifies all Local and International purchases ensuring that all transactions are in accordance to ABL’s Credit Policies i.e arrears are settled, purchases are within the approved facility, excess approval is obtained prior to release of payouts<\/p>\n
Trade Facility Exposure Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure client utilization aligns with approved limits; obtain top-up confirmation if exceeded and factor in unpaid deposit exposures before approving new advances.<\/p>\n
Administration of Trade Finance Advances<\/p>\n
\tForeign Payments (Documentary & Non-documentary):
\n\tReview payment requests and ensure compliance with policies and Shariah principles.
\n\tPrepare and approve applications for processing.
\n\tCoordinate with clients regarding Offer to Purchase.<\/p>\n
Trade Shariah Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all transactions and delivery confirmations align with Shariah checklists. Follow up on non-finalized trade advances (NFDs), update SharePoint logs, and mitigate Shariah risk through timely client engagement and documentation.<\/p>\n
Not Finalized Trade Advances – Second Sales & invoicing:<\/p>\n
\tMaintain regular contact with clients regarding shipment status.
\n\tEnsure timely receipt and vetting of Offer to Purchase documents. Finalize trades per Shariah guidelines and client terms, manage delays through logging and follow-ups, and maintain accurate records for all transactions.<\/p>\n
Client Support & General Administration<\/p>\n
Client Support:<\/p>\n
\tAddress customer complaints and inquiries promptly.
\n\tEnsure timely execution of trade processes.<\/p>\n
Internal Divisions:<\/p>\n
\tAssist internal departments with trade finance queries.
\n\tCompile audit files and provide feedback on compliance audits.<\/p>\n
Department Operations:<\/p>\n
Administration & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tMonitor and respond to trade emails promptly.
\n\tLog transactions on SharePoint for diarised payments and profit recovery.
\n\tAssist clients and internal teams with queries and trade guidance.
\n\tSupport reporting on overdue NFDs.
\n\tFacilitate repayment allocations
\n\tEnsure transaction verifications comply with Shariah requirements.<\/p>\n
Support staff<\/p>\n
\tProvide back-office support for staff coverage within the division.<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tA diploma or recognized certificate in International Trade would be an advantage<\/p>\n
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tA minimum of 2-5 years of general banking experience, accounting & international trade finance<\/p>\n
