The Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics and Statistics requires the services of one part time lecturers to (i) to facilitate virtual classes and one part time facilitator to (ii) facilitate theoretical, practical and tutorial classes based at the Giyani campus for the 2026 academic year.<\/p>\n
Critical Performance Areas lecturer:<\/p>\n
\tPreparing and conducting lectures, practicals, and tutorials
\n\tCompile or update learner guides and prepare study materials
\n\tPreparation and marking of assessments
\n\tMonitoring and tracking of students’ performance
\n\tContribute to curriculum development
\n\tStudent consultation
\n\tUse MyTUTor (Brightspace) virtual learning environment to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
\n\tParticipate in departmental meetings, faculty and institutional activities and training opportunities.
\n\tResponsible for administrative tasks related to the three subjects (including marking, practicals and continuous class tests and development)
\n\tEngagement in community projects
\n\tConduct ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBSc Hons in Mathematics or an equivalent qualification (Position: Facilitator)
\n\tMaster’s Degree in Mathematics (Position: Lecturer)<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tThree (3) years relevant teaching experience.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n
\tFull proficiency in English and good communication skills.
\n\tExcellent presentation and communication skills.
\n\tProficiency in Office packages (Microsoft Word\/Excel\/PowerPoint; SharePoint, Teams) and other relevant computer programmes in the TUT environment.
\n\tCompletion of a TUT license to Teach programme will be compulsory.<\/p>\n
