KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS<\/p>\n
\tProvide expertise and forward-thinking compliance direction and advice in anti-money laundering compliance regarding regulated financial institutions, persons and sectors under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (FIC Act).
\n\tConsider and report on possible strategic prevention initiatives and responses in assigned regulated sectors.
\n\tEnsure quality of solutions provided by team members, consider possible new solutions for, and solve queries related to complex compliance matters, within the compliance framework;
\n\tLead and conduct compliance reviews for sector clusters.
\n\tIdentify short falls and make recommendations on improving compliance oversight of supervisory bodies.
\n\tReview the work of the team, allocate work (ACOs and COs) and provide guidance and monitoring.
\n\tRecommend areas for compliance research.
\n\tBuild, manage and maintain professional relationships with assigned supervisory bodies, regulated institutions and other parties affected by FIC Act.
\n\tAssist with the inspections when required, including the follow up of remedial actions.

\n\tConduct risk-based analyses by developing analytical models and utilising relevant programs to enable risk-orientated decisions making.
\n\tDeliver holistic compliance monitoring by performing qualitative and quantitative research and reporting to rationalise actions taken regarding compliance-related matters.
\n\tChampion the upskilling of the team by educating team members on data management and analytics technical aspects in order to drive a high-performance culture.
\n\tData Quality \u2013 Promotes adherence to appropriate quality management methods and techniques to uphold data quality standards.
\n\tInsights and Reporting \u2013 Performs standard data reporting activities, by following established insights and reports procedures.
\n\tData Science and Tools \u2013 Interprets an existing script of elementary to moderate complexity and utilises beginner to intermediate programming skills, in using at least one mainstream Commercial and Open-Source Data Science \/ Analytics software tool.
\n\tData Requirements Identification \u2013 Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small-scale data changes and assists with more complex change initiatives.<\/p>\n
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tRelevant University Degree (LLB, BCOM and Information Systems)
\n\tPost graduate Compliance Management qualification is preferred
\n\tCertified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification is preferred
\n\tAt least six years’ experience in a relevant field i.e., in the application of compliance\/risk methodologies, of which four years must be practical experience in the AML\/CTFT environment.
\n\tData Governance, Compliance and Ethics \u2013 Possesses sound knowledge of relevant legislation, ethics-compliance principles, and governance policies.
\n\tData Literacy \u2013 Possesses emerging competency and fluency with regard to speaking, writing and engaging in data and analytics programs and use cases.
\n\tChange management skills.
\n\tAbility to conduct simple programming\/ understanding script writing
\n\tExcellent communication skills (oral and written)
\n\tUnderstanding of financial services institutions and sectors under the FIC Act including, but not limited to, banks, credit providers, money remitters, collective investment scheme managers, long-term insurers, financial services providers and JSE members;
\n\tUnderstanding of designated non-financial businesses and professions under the FIC Act including, but not limited to, trust service providers, attorneys, estate agents, gambling institutions and dealers in high value goods;
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act and supported legislation
\n\tAn intermediate to advanced level of computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Access, MS Project; MS Excel, MS Power Point
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of international money laundering and terrorist financing control measures
\n\tGood presentation skills<\/p>\n
