Job Purpose<\/p>\n
\tReporting directly into Head of Reporting. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for Performing financial analysis and assessing the financial viability of business transactions from both Internal and External partners and administrators. Ensuring that the process is efficient, focusing on Automation and Optimization. Provide business data and analysis to managers within the organisation to assist in business decision making and control.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tTo manage the accurate processing of automated Journals to the General Ledger by T+5 of accounting reporting
\n\tTo manage the accurate processing of manual journals to the General Ledger by T+8 of accounting reporting (Off platform NON automated)
\n\tContract with the Finance Operations areas to ensure delivery to the business unit within terms of agreed SLA’s
\n\tProvide financial support and guidance to the team and to the relevant stakeholders
\n\tUpdating cessions and posting Reserves & Interest Journal
\n\tEfficient assistance with external and GIA audit processes plus elimination of significant audit findings to the extent that these relate to both control design and execution.
\n\tAttending to queries and Adhoc requests
\n\tResponsible for integrated planning process
\n\tExecuting Automation and Optimization for all Off platform business
\n\tPrepare and\/or review monthly, quarterly and annual management information
\n\tReview of the general ledger and provide review notes \/ monthly commentary.
\n\tAnalyse, report and review on organisational profitability, trends and balance sheet
\n\tBalance sheet management and sign off.
\n\tFinancial systems designed, implemented and maintained.
\n\tSupervising a finance team<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge and Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nRequired Experience<\/p>\n
\t5 – 8 years\u2019 experience in the Finance and Insurance industry \u2013 Not negotiable
\n\tAptitude and interest in Numbers, Business and processes
\n\tProven experience as a Management accountant
\n\tDemonstrated experience in working with Finance Control and Reporting
\n\tAbility to work with different work streams and drive finance reporting process.
\n\tSystem Automation experience and Data analysis exposure<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge and Skills<\/p>\n
\tPC literate (Advanced MS Office, Great Plains an advantage)
\n\tKnowledge and skills in IFRS17
\n\tKnowledge and skills in working with advanced excel formula
\n\tKnowledge of systems and controls, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
\n\tExperience and knowledge of Financial control and Financial Reporting<\/p>\n
