RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties, among others:<\/p>\n
\tCarrying out academic, managerial, and administrative responsibilities in the Office of the Dean.
\n\tProviding strategic and operational leadership of the research and postgraduate studies portfolio.
\n\tSupporting the Dean in developing and implementing innovative research and postgraduate education strategies.
\n\tBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with relevant stakeholders within and outside the University.
\n\tDeveloping and sustaining an environment that enables departments to achieve their research, postgraduate enrolments, and postgraduate throughput targets.
\n\tDeveloping strategies to support early-career researchers and postgraduate mentorship.
\n\tPromoting and facilitating an enabling environment for interdisciplinary, collaborative and transdisciplinary research.
\n\tAssisting in the development of effective support and monitoring mechanisms to enhance the quality of postgraduate offerings.
\n\tAssisting the Dean with research related fundraising.
\n\tEstablishing and strengthening existing international networks.
\n\tPerforming any other duties that may be assigned by the Dean and\/or members of the Executive.<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tA relevant doctorate with specialisation in the broad field of Economic and Management Sciences.
\n\tThe requisite qualifications and experience to be eligible for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor in the Faculty at UP, the assessment of which is based on several factors, including teaching and learning, research, postgraduate supervision, community engagement, academic administration, and academic citizenship.
\n\tA minimum of five years of academic management experience in a higher education institution.
\n\tA proven, ongoing track record of excellence in leading teams in research and postgraduate programme development and implementation.
\n\tProven leadership experience in inter-faculty research and postgraduate programmes.
\n\tExtensive proven experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching;
\n\tA proven record of postgraduate supervision at the master\u2019s and doctoral levels;\u00a0and.
\n\tProven experience in fundraising.<\/p>\n
