Purpose of Job<\/p>\n
\tAs a professional specialist in the field of capital management, this is an exciting position for the right individual. Responsible to co-ordinate, integrate and analyse with the ability to operate under pressure and independently in meeting key timelines. Which also enjoys attention to detail, ability ensure organised and structured systems whilst developing stakeholder relations will be well suited to this position.\u00a0
\n\tImprovement and automation of capital processes to enhance efficiency of the existing systems. This includes ensuring of required governance processes are integrated through co-operation with financial and operational business units.
\n\tGrowing and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships within a framework of good governance and ability to enable meeting of timeliness will be vital to be successful in this role. Engagement with stakeholders at the various business units, this will require a \u201chands on\u201d individual to be based at the Secunda offices.<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tTo co-ordinate and facilitate the capital budget process during August RCP and January budget cycle. Doing of analysis and presentations to decision makers.
\n\tPreparation and co-ordination of the Mining monthly capital approval forum (CAF), including meeting governance and associated requirements.\u00a0
\n\tSecure the translation of the long-term Mining strategy into a viable project portfolio for the rolling capital plan (RCP).
\n\tSupport Mining inputs, analysis and presentations to CSAC meetings
\n\tEngagement with capital stream leads to ensure alignment with the holistic operational Mining complex plan.
\n\tSupport users of the Group Economic Models (GEM\u2019s) and provide guidelines to ensure consistent principles are applied.
\n\tInteraction with the Sasol Group capital portfolio office and various internal Mining stakeholders such as operational business units, financial, capital scrubbing, cost modelling, budget team and various horizons of mine and business planning, etc.
\n\tEstablish principles and develop appropriate processes and systems to ensure inputs of stream leads are captured to provide and integrated capital portfolio view.
\n\tEngage with the Mining risk partner to develop a harmonised capital risk management process and the development of standardised capital prioritisation.
\n\tValidate and introduce projects into the Rolling Capital Plan (RCP) for Mining. Secure timely and quality delivery of the RCP.
\n\tEnsure projects entering the pipeline actively support the long-term Sasol Group and Mining objectives.
\n\tFormalised and structured Gate 7 review processes for large projects.
\n\tDeliver portfolio reports on planned capital expenditure to enable decision making by senior management.
\n\tApply aligned and appropriate portfolio management and project approval processes.
\n\tVerify that software systems (e.g., GEM\u2019s) are up to date based on group guidance to support objective economic evaluations.
\n\tCreate and maintain reports for planned capital portfolio e.g., quarterly reporting.
\n\tBuild and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders to enable effective portfolio management.
\n\tContinuously improve own skills and knowledge to obtain performance goals.
\n\tCapital planning reporting, interpretation, trend analysis and insights.
\n\tOptimise the project portfolio within resource constraints<\/p>\n
Formal Education<\/p>\n
\tUniversity Degree in Finance or Engineering<\/p>\n
Working Experience and Knowledge<\/p>\n
\tExperience: 10+ relevant years.
\n\tMust have a good financial background\/experience, preferably with previous capital management related experience, governance processes and technical\/industry exposure.
\n\tWell acquainted with SAP transactions, financial systems and MS Office skills.<\/p>\n
License<\/p>\n
\tA valid Driver’s License<\/p>\n
