Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent discipline
\n\tComputer Literacy: Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Internet and any other applications require to perform duties.
\n\t5 years\u2019 experience in the theatre environment \/ industry<\/p>\n
Primary Function<\/p>\n
\tTo contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of programs that foster arts learning and awareness in line with IDP of organization\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tIdentify and select productions aligned with the company\u2019s business plan and artistic policy.
\n\tTranslate strategic objectives into impactful programmes.
\n\tEstablish programme schedules and ensure alignment with JCT\u2019s vision and goals.
\n\tSupport arts learning, awareness, and community engagement initiatives.
\n\tOversee planning, coordination, and delivery of theatre programmes, residencies, and projects.
\n\tEnsure productions meet high artistic and technical standards.
\n\tManage budgets, timelines, and compliance requirements for all productions.
\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with producers, artists, co-producers, and other theatres.
\n\tDevelop national and international touring opportunities.
\n\tCollaborate on contract negotiations and co-productions.
\n\tDraft and manage annual programming budgets.
\n\tMonitor revenue and expenditure to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
\n\tLink programme objectives to financial planning and reporting.
\n\tOversee scheduling, venue bookings, contracts, and production calendars.
\n\tSubmit regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) on programming outcomes.
\n\tEnsure effective record-keeping, compliance with SCM processes, and project close-out reports.
\n\tProvide guidance to creative teams, directors, and production staff. Manage the producing function on a daily basis, assisting the Artistic Director and Chief Operations Officer in ensuring that all work at the Joburg City Theatres is produced and presented with high production values and in the best possible circumstances (including national and international touring
\n\tWork with the Artistic Director and other Department Heads in the development of annual and long-term project plans.
\n\tWork with the Artistic Director, visiting directors, and casting agents to manage casting for productions, including conducting all availability checks, arranging meetings, and submitting offers (availability).
\n\tRespond timeously enquiries regarding availability of the venues. Follow-through on correspondence until finalization.
\n\tMaintain and distribute theatre calendars in order for them to be up to date at all times.
\n\tEnsure that information on the deposit registers is accurate and up to date.
\n\tEnsure that the calendars tally with the Deposit Register and website.
\n\tSubmit weekly, monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual programming reports.
\n\tLead cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth execution of projects<\/p>\n
