Job Summary\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tTo ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality laundry services by inspecting linen for cleanliness, damage, and proper processing according to clinical standards.
\n\tThe Quality Controller is responsible for identifying non-conforming items, ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols, and maintaining service excellence across all stages of linen handling.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tKnowledge of infection prevention and control standards
\n\tBasic knowledge of textile handling and laundry processes
\n\tBasic knowledge and understanding quality control principles and standards
\n\t1\u20132 years of experience in a healthcare or commercial laundry environment is advantageous
\n\tBasic understanding of hospital linen types and handling protocols
\n\tTraining in IPC or willingness to undergo IPC training
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of quality control standards<\/p>\n
Minimum Job Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with laundry sorting, washroom, and packing teams to ensure continuous quality monitoring.
\n\tEnsure that condemned linen is recorded and removed from circulation according to policy.
\n\tSupport efforts to meet daily targets without compromising quality.
\n\tAssist in training new staff on proper handling, folding, and inspection procedures.
\n\tParticipate in quality review meetings and audits.
\n\tRecord findings from inspections in quality control logs.
\n\tReport trends in damaged or stained linen to the Laundry Supervisor.
\n\tRecommend improvements based on recurring quality issues.
\n\tConduct post-wash inspections of linen for stains, tears, foreign objects, and quality issues.
\n\tIdentify and tag linen that should be rewashed, mended, or condemned.
\n\tEnsure clean linen meets defined clinical hygiene and presentation standards<\/p>\n
