Job Purpose<\/p>\n
\tLead the finance function for the Direct and Intermediated Insurance Business Units within Hollard Life Solutions. Ensure financial integrity, strategic alignment, and operational excellence across budgeting, reporting, governance, and stakeholder engagement
\n\tManage Opex reporting process, ensuring that all month-end journals are processed to correct GL accounts and cost center.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Business Partnering & Strategic Insight<\/p>\n
\tAct as a strategic finance advisor to senior leadership, providing financial insight, scenario analysis, and recommendations to support business growth and profitability
\n\tChallenge and influence business leaders to drive operational efficiency, sustainable growth, and return on capital
\n\tProvide meaningful recommendations, explanations, and highlights of concerns or anomalies by analysing and interrogating financial information.
\n\tSupport the achievement of business strategy and transformation goals by ensuring finance processes, reporting, and outputs are aligned to business unit and group priorities.<\/p>\n
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning<\/p>\n
\tEnsure accurate and timeous budgets are submitted, reviewed, and aligned with key economic indicators and group strategic initiatives.
\n\tLead forecasting and long-term planning processes, ensuring robust assumptions and alignment with business growth objectives.
\n\tAchieve business objectives within specified timeframes by scheduling, coordinating, and allocating appropriate resources.<\/p>\n
Reporting & Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tConsolidate financial reports across Direct & Intermediated channels, delivering value-added insights and recommendations from multiple data sources.
\n\tEnsure accurate financial results by reviewing reconciliations, monitoring unreconciled items, and strengthening internal controls.
\n\tDevelop and monitor KPIs, including revenue, expense ratios etc
\n\tTranslate complex financial outcomes into clear insights for senior stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Working Capital and Cash Flow Forecast<\/p>\n
\tManage BUs working capital and cash flow forecasts.
\n\tProvide insights on ratios and projections.
\n\tChampion process efficiency and receivables collection.
\n\tMonitor actual vs forecast and communicate results.<\/p>\n
Governance, Risk & Audit<\/p>\n
\tManage defined risks in the finance function by adhering to internal and external guidelines, policies, and governance frameworks.
\n\tEnsure compliance with IFRS 17, tax, regulatory, and audit requirements.
\n\tObtain buy-in for new or enhanced processes that improve operational and financial effectiveness.
\n\tContribute to Debt Review Committee and other ad hoc committees
\n\tLead internal and external audit processes for Direct and Intermediated Insurance Business Units<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering<\/p>\n
\tUnderstand and meet stakeholder requirements through continuous engagement, proactive insights, and decision support.
\n\tPartner with distribution, product, operations, actuarial, and risk teams to drive sustainable financial outcomes.
\n\tAssist in achieving group collaboration initiatives by identifying opportunities for partnerships and synergies across Hollard.<\/p>\n
Leadership & Team Development<\/p>\n
\tAs a core member of the Finance MANCO team, expected to actively contribute to setting short-term and medium-term term goals for the team
\n\tMaintain high standards of analysis and reporting by planning, organising, and monitoring workflow to meet deadlines.
\n\tProvide ongoing guidance, mentoring, and coaching to the finance team, ensuring best-practice analysis and reporting.
\n\tContribute to intellectual capital development by motivating and training team members, enabling on-the-job skills transfer.
\n\tShare industry knowledge and trends with stakeholders during formal and informal interactions.<\/p>\n
Required Knowledge and Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nExperience<\/p>\n
\tA minimum of 4 years in a finance environment, and experience in operating at a senior manager level as a senior finance business partner or FP&A role.
\n\tLife insurance experience essential, with knowledge of IFRS 17
\n\tExperience in building relations with senior management and driving change management
\n\tDemonstrated expertise in budgeting and forecasting.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills<\/p>\n
\tPC literate (Advanced MS Office, Great Plains an advantage)
\n\tTechnical Insurance accounting, financial and management accounting
\n\tKnowledge of accounting packages, systems and controls including budgeting, understanding of Line of business systems and their integration into the accounting system
\n\tFinancial and management accounting (IFRS)
\n\tSome knowledge of regulatory and related insurance industry general informatio
\n\tStrategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of insurance value drivers.
\n\tExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability.
\n\tStrong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across business units.
