About the role<\/p>\n
\tThe Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies and campaigns that elevate the centre\u2019s profile, strengthen tenant brands, and deliver measurable commercial results. This role requires innovation, creativity, and accountability \u2014 embodying EBM\u2019s ethos of being \u201cunsame\u201d in the way we design, communicate, and engage.
\n\tThe Marketing Manager builds strong connections between landlords, tenants, shoppers, and the community. Success in this role is measured not only by footfall and sales growth, but also by the ability to deliver unique experiences that reflect EBM\u2019s values and position the centre as an extension of our clients\u2019 brand promise.<\/p>\n
What you will bring<\/p>\n
Education & Experience<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 (Matric) essential.
\n\tTertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
\n\t5+ years\u2019 marketing experience, ideally in retail\/shopping centres or FMCG.<\/p>\n
Skills<\/p>\n
\tStrategic thinker with strong creative execution.
\n\tBudget management and financial discipline.
\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication (English).
\n\tStrong digital and social media capability.
\n\tCommercial awareness and project management ability.<\/p>\n
Knowledge<\/p>\n
\tRetail and property marketing landscape.
\n\tDemographics, consumer behaviour, and shopper insights.
\n\tMarket research and analytics tools.<\/p>\n

What you will be doing<\/p>\n
Strategy & Planning<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and implement annual marketing plans tailored to each centre\u2019s unique positioning.
\n\tDesign and manage events and campaigns that differentiate the centre, drive traffic, and enhance tenant performance.
\n\tBalance creative vision with commercial objectives to meet landlord and tenant expectations.<\/p>\n
Campaign Delivery & Execution<\/p>\n
\tPlan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across media, PR, events, and digital channels.
\n\tCreate impactful content (press releases, brochures, digital, social media).
\n\tMonitor campaign effectiveness and provide actionable insights.<\/p>\n
Market Research & Insight<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse shopper demographics, trading performance, and competitor activity.
\n\tUse insights to refine strategies and ensure campaigns resonate with the target audience.<\/p>\n
Relationship Management<\/p>\n
\tAct as a key liaison between the centre, tenants, agencies, and the public.
\n\tBuild strong partnerships with media vendors, service providers, and community stakeholders.
\n\tSupport tenants with promotional opportunities to enhance their performance.<\/p>\n
Financial & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tManage centre marketing budgets with precision and accountability.
\n\tProcess and track invoices for approval in line with financial procedures.
\n\tReport monthly on marketing performance, footfall, and ROI against budgets.<\/p>\n
Decision-Making Authority<\/p>\n
\tWorks independently within agreed budgets, mandates, and strategic frameworks. Makes day-to-day marketing decisions, escalating strategic or financial issues when necessary.<\/p>\n
