\tOur Commercial Department has a vacant position for a qualified Attorney. We are looking for an energetic and highly driven candidate to become part of this well-established and growing practice. The ideal candidate is confident with excellent written and oral communication abilities, ability to handle multiple priorities and well experienced in Commercial Law and Commercial Litigation. \u00a0If you enjoy commercial work and litigation and have the desire to take your career to the next level, then this is for you. Minimum required experience and competencies:<\/p>\n
\tAdmitted Attorney with 3 to 5 years post admission experience
\n\tCompleted B Com Law and LLB degrees
\n\tPost graduate qualifications (beneficial)
\n\t3 to 5 years post admission experience in High Court litigation – Commercial matters
\n\tExperience in drafting pleadings, applications and court notices
\n\tProficient in Court Online and Case Lines
\n\tExperience in drafting of Commercial Agreements
\n\tExperience in Data Privacy and Consumer Law (beneficial)
\n\tExperience in Company Secretarial work (beneficial).
\n\tThe candidate should be self motivated, meticulous, dedicated, and an analytical thinker who thrives on finding solutions to challenging and complex legal issues.<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities and duties:<\/p>\n
\tThe duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Associate will include, but not be limited to:
\n\tAttending to client consultations and taking of instructions;
\n\tAccurate drafting of Court pleadings, applications and notices;
\n\tAccurate compilation of comprehensive commercial quotations;
\n\tEnsuring that all litigation matters are properly managed;
\n\tEnsuring accurate and timeous drafting or reviewing of all legal documents i.e. contracts, agreements and letters of demand;
\n\tEnsuring accurate and timeous briefing of counsel and relevant third parties and ensure adequate pre-consultation preparation;
\n\tEnsuing that files are managed efficiently (Company files, client files, counsel files and court copies);
\n\tAdhering to FICA requirements and ensuring that the relevant documentation is completed accurately;
\n\tEnsuring that all client queries are acknowledged immediately and resolved timeously including invoice queries and other general queries;
\n\tUpdating clients and all other relevant parties on a regular basis regarding the status of matters\/ instructions or queries;
\n\tEnsuring that legal advice and knowledge is sound and competent;
\n\tEnsure billing requirements for specific clients are adhered to in accordance with client’s instructions;
\n\tEnsuring effective management of debtors i.e., when working on a file determining whether there is an outstanding account and following up for payment;<\/p>\n
