KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, is seeking a skilled Technical Field Support Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the seamless installation and commissioning of KONE products, delivering exceptional technical support to our manufacturing and installation teams while upholding our safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Technical Support<\/p>\n
\tProvide remote and on-site technical support to resolve installation and commissioning issues for KONE products.
\n\tAddress technical challenges related to digital tools, APF, software, and BIM to ensure smooth project execution.
\n\tEnsure installations meet KONE\u2019s stringent quality standards and customer specifications, delivering a superior ride comfort experience.<\/p>\n
Quality Assurance<\/p>\n
\tConduct post-site visit quality reports, identifying issues requiring corrective actions.
\n\tDocument helpdesk issues and initiate corrective measures in line with KONE processes.
\n\tParticipate in closing reviews to capture learnings and improve product and skill development.<\/p>\n
Safety Compliance<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to KONE\u2019s safety requirements and ensure compliance with global processes and customer\/partner safety protocols.
\n\tProactively report safety concerns and halt operations if safety violations or hazards are detected.<\/p>\n
Training and Development<\/p>\n
\tTrain local trainers and employees during site visits or scheduled training sessions.
\n\tCollaborate with global and local training centres to deliver technical expertise and enhance workforce capabilities.<\/p>\n
People Leadership<\/p>\n
\tManage team performance, set targets, conduct Performance Development Plans (PDPs) and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) in collaboration with the Technical Field Support Manager.
\n\tIdentify skill gaps, drive competence development, and foster a collaborative team environment.
\n\tAllocate tasks, monitor key performance indicators, and ensure team priorities align with business objectives.<\/p>\n
Experience Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tTechnical qualification or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
\n\tElevator & escalator (E&E) expertise is a must.
\n\tMinimum 5 years of experience in technical support or troubleshooting within the elevator, escalator, or related industry.
\n\tMinimum 5 years of supervisory experience, with proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
\n\tHolistic knowledge of products and corrective action processes.
\n\tStrong technical understanding of product and service solutions, including digital tools and software, to meet customer expectations.
\n\tKnowledge of applicable norms and requirements for each project.
\n\tCommitment to safety and ability to select environmentally sustainable solutions when possible.
