Management Accounts<\/p>\n
\tDraw and analyse management reports per allocated division
\n\tThrough analysis, ensure that all revenue and expenditure is processed to the correct\u00a0GL accounts . Where incorrect postings are identified, investigate and correct through journalisation.
\n\tEstablish root cause of incorrect postings and take corrective action to avoid in future incidents.
\n\tPerform monthly period-end procedures, and related analytical functions when required.
\n\tInvestigate budget variances and report to Mintek management.
\n\tCompile monthly management packs for SBU\u2019s inclusive of management accounting and project information as required.<\/p>\n
Budget Management<\/p>\n
\tProvide financial input to divisions with annual budgeting and regular forecasting.
\n\tPerform trend analysis per division to assist divisions in accurate budgeting. Advise SBU managers on common mistakes.
\n\tSet-up of divisional budget templates and assist with all budget reviews by giving guidance to divisions and compilation of budget packs.
\n\tPerform calculation of annual labour rates per division.
\n\tProvide financial advice to SBU\u2019s with determination of cost recovery rates.
\n\tControl budget transfers on IFS (Opex vs Capex)
\n\tControl and monitor the actual expenditure relating to CAPEX against budgeted CAPEX targets as well as handling issues arising from the CAPEX process related to management accounting and project issues.<\/p>\n
Project Administration<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that the SAP Project Administration system is adhered to by reviewing and evaluating processes, ensuring compliance with SOP\u2019s.
\n\tReview individual project establishment through supporting documentation. After establishing compliance with SOP\u2019s, release the project on the system.
\n\tEvaluating and monitoring accuracy of projects through review of planning documentation and actual revenue\/expenditure.
\n\tReview monthly billing of projects and release to FI IFS.
\n\tMonitor, reconcile and exercise control over SBU financial functions.
\n\tReview revenue reserves for reasonability and perform sample calculations to ensure that revenue recognition is accurate.<\/p>\n
Other<\/p>\n
\tLiaise and co-ordinate with auditors and SBU managers.
\n\tCompletion and submit statutory returns to the South African Reserve Bank and STATS SA.
\n\tRegular feedback sessions with SBU managers regarding their financials and report to Head: Budget and Project Management.
\n\tAssist with business improvement and cost reduction initiatives within business units.
\n\tLiaise extensively with other departments in Finance and within larger company environment.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tBCom Honours Degree or equivalent qualification
\n\t3 to 5 years\u2019 experience in management and cost accounting environment
\n\tComputer literacy (MS Windows, Word, Excel). IFS will be an advantage.
