Role Overview:<\/p>\n
\tThe Country Procurement Manager Africa leads and oversees procurement activities within South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Morocco & Tunisia. This position requires close coordination with local business operations and alignment with the Procurement leads of the relevant units. The role focuses on implementing global or area-based procurement strategies, managing supplier selection and negotiations, and driving supplier performance and relationship management. Reporting to the Head of Procurement for the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, the Country Procurement Manager Africa will be involved in coaching stakeholders on spend optimization and ensuring alignment with broader Procurement objectives and strategies.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities and Activities:<\/p>\n
Leadership and Coordination:<\/p>\n
\tAct as a key counterpart to other business functions in the country.
\n\tRepresent Procurement in cross-functional teams and country management forums.
\n\tSupervise the Procurement team for the above-specified countries.<\/p>\n
Strategic and Operational Management:<\/p>\n
\tDrive the availability, quality, and cost optimization of materials and services.
\n\tFacilitate cross-functional cost management steering in the country.
\n\tAddress local procurement requirements and align them with area procurement strategies.<\/p>\n
Supplier Management:<\/p>\n
\tAct as a contract owner for selected suppliers.
\n\tHandle escalated supplier issues.
\n\tManage supplier selection, tendering, negotiation, and relationship management.<\/p>\n
Implementation and Optimization:<\/p>\n
\tImplement global and area category plans at the country level.
\n\tCoach stakeholders on spend optimization and cost management strategies.<\/p>\n

Educational and Language Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in engineering or a related field.
\n\tAdditional qualifications in Supply Chain Management or Procurement are advantageous.
\n\tProficiency in spoken and written English is essential.<\/p>\n
Professional and Technical Skills:<\/p>\n
\tStrong supply market knowledge in the relevant area of spend.
\n\tProficiency in supplier tendering, negotiation, and contract management.
\n\tFamiliarity with supplier performance, quality management, and relationship management.
\n\tKnowledge of relevant technologies and systems in procurement.<\/p>\n
Experience Requirements:<\/p>\n
\t8\u201315 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
\n\tFamiliarity with local procurement laws and supplier networks is a plus.
\n\tMinimum 5 years of leadership or management experience.
\n\tExperience working in an international\/multinational environment is an advantage.<\/p>\n
