\tWe are seeking a Team Lead: Information Analysis to play a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and governance of data throughout a major data transformation initiative.
\n\tThis role focuses on mapping data from source systems to target platforms (e.g., data lake), collaborating with business stakeholders to define key data elements, facilitating alignment on terminology and usage, and ensuring adherence to data governance standards and documentation protocols.<\/p>\n

Education & Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBSc, BCom, BEng, BBusSc or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification\/degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or related discipline
\n\tStrong academic foundation in data governance, database management, information management, and business intelligence
\n\tUnderstanding and experience with Data Warehouse models
\n\tUnderstanding and experience with Enterprise Domain Data Models<\/p>\n
Required Skills & Experience:<\/p>\n
\t4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data stewardship, preferably in a project delivery context.
\n\tProven experience with source-to-target mapping (manual or automated).
\n\tFamiliarity with data lake environments, big data platforms, or cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks).
\n\tStrong understanding of metadata management, data quality, and data modeling concepts.
\n\tHands-on experience with data cataloging or lineage tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Atlan, Purview).
\n\tExcellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to drive consensus across technical and business teams.
\n\tProficient in using Excel, SQL, and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
\n\tStrong attention to detail and structured approach to data analysis and documentation.<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tExperience with Agile\/Scrum or project-based delivery methodologies.
\n\tExposure to regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, utilities).
\n\tBackground in data migration, data integration, or ETL environments.
\n\tCertified Data Management Professional (CDMP) \u2013 Associate or Practitioner level (DAMA International).
\n\tData Governance & Stewardship training (EDM Council or equivalent).
\n\tSQL or Data Analytics certification(s)
\n\tAgile Business Analysis or related business process certification (advantageous).<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tLead and coordinate source-to-target data mapping for ingestion into the data lake or downstream systems.
\n\tWork closely with business and technical teams to define and document data definitions, business rules, and metadata.
\n\tAct as the bridge between business SMEs and technical teams to align data requirements with implementation.
\n\tFacilitate workshops or stakeholder meetings to gain consensus on data element definitions and standards.
\n\tEnforce data standards, naming conventions, and quality rules throughout the project lifecycle.
\n\tMaintain and update data documentation, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage records.
\n\tSupport data profiling and quality assessments to validate mappings and source data integrity.
\n\tIdentify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with business and IT teams.
\n\tSupport UAT and validation processes by ensuring mapped data meets business expectations.<\/p>\n
Managing a team:<\/p>\n
\tOversee consultants with task assignments
\n\tManaging permanent employees
\n\tInvolve in PI planning<\/p>\n
Success Metrics:<\/p>\n
\tAccurate and complete source-to-target mappings delivered on time.
\n\tBusiness-aligned and approved data definitions and glossaries.
\n\tDocumented data lineage and traceability from source to target.
\n\tHigh data quality scores in validation checks.
\n\tPositive feedback from business and technical stakeholders on collaboration and clarity.<\/p>\n
