Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS)<\/p>\n
\tOur client, a leader in the construction and mining sector, is seeking a highly skilled Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) to manage project budgets, contracts, and financial reporting while ensuring cost efficiency and value for clients.
\n\tThe successful candidate will oversee contract administration, cost monitoring, and risk management while working closely with project teams and stakeholders. The position will be based in the North West.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, Management, or a related field.
\n\tRegistered as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS).
\n\tA minimum of 10 years\u2019 experience in quantity surveying within general, mining, or construction environments.
\n\tProven experience in contract management, tender preparation, and cost reporting.
\n\tStrong knowledge of relevant property taxes, regulations, and local laws.<\/p>\n
Roles and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tReview and calculate project quantities from engineering drawings.
\n\tManage project budgets effectively to meet client expectations.
\n\tConduct continuous cost monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting.
\n\tPrepare and adjudicate contract modifications and agreements.
\n\tPrepare tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities.
\n\tCompile monthly progress payment certificates and approve payments for contractors and subcontractors.
\n\tSet budgets for payments, inventory, and material requirements.
\n\tCompile monthly financial reports and present to clients.
\n\tReport on potential cost variations and recommend corrective actions.
\n\tTrack changes in plans or construction activities and update budgets accordingly.
\n\tNegotiate with contractors and subcontractors to achieve cost efficiency.
\n\tAct as liaison between clients, site managers, and engineers.
\n\tMonitor and report on construction materials and inventory usage.
\n\tIdentify financial and construction risks, advising on mitigation strategies.
\n\tAdvise clients on improvements, strategies, and estimated costs.
\n\tManage final account forecasting and agreement.
\n\tWork closely with the project site team to ensure alignment of cost and progress reporting.
\n\tMaintain and develop strong working relationships with contractors and subcontractors.
\n\tUtilise software to calculate, record, and track project inventory and cost estimates.
\n\tAnalyse completed projects to assess return on investment and cost performance.
\n\tProvide contract management support across all project phases.<\/p>\n
