Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Senior Manager: Facilities Management, the successful incumbent is accountable to manage and drive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) for the organisation to ensure compliance.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas<\/p>\n
Implement Minimum Safety Standards in Line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act<\/p>\n
\tOversee risk assessment in order to develop prevention strategy and program.
\n\tLiaise with Fire Department, Disaster Management Centre and SAPS on evaluation and endorsement of the operational emergency Plan.<\/p>\n
Manage OHS Plan<\/p>\n
\tDevelop OHS awareness strategy for the RAF.
\n\tConduct OHS awareness campaigns for the RAF.
\n\tConduct threat\/ risk analysis and recommend proactive and reactive plans.
\n\tManage the provision of OHS Training.
\n\tReview and update contingency plan on annual basis.<\/p>\n
Manage Incident and Accident Investigations<\/p>\n
\tConduct accident and incident investigations.\u00a0
\n\tAnalyze accident and incident reports and develop improved measures.\u00a0
\n\tProvide reports for all incidences to the relevant stakeholders.
\n\tManage record keeping of all OHS accident and incidence.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Policy Review and Implementation<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and manage the implementation of Occupational \u00a0Health and Safety (OHS) plans and systems for the RAF.
\n\tProvide advice and guidance to the RAF on emerging issues, risks, and the implementation of changes required and insights on policy matters.
\n\tDevelop and review contingency planning procedure.<\/p>\n
Reporting<\/p>\n
\tDevelop functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
\n\tEnsure regular and periodic reports are reviewed and submitted as and when required to provide progress updates and\/or inform management decisions.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tMaintain proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders.
\n\tDeal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
\n\tManage relationships with service providers or procurement teams and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.<\/p>\n
People Management<\/p>\n
\tManagement of human capital processes and procedures to control\/ regulate workplace conflict and\/or institute corrective measures and consultation processes to address deviations from standards.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelors Degree in Occupational Health and Safety related qualification.\u00a0
\n\tPost Graduate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety related qualification advantageous.
\n\tRelevant 6 – 8 years\u2019 experience in Ocupational Health and Safety related environment of which 2 years must have been on a management level\/ Supervisory level\/ area of expertise.<\/p>\n
