About the Job:
\n\tKPMG Law is a passionate team of attorneys who have extensive experience and expertise in the provision of a variety of legal services to external clients. These services include M&A legal services, legal due diligences, contract drafting services, general corporate and commercial legal services, the legal analysis, design and implementation of group restructures and the preparation of legal opinions. KPMG Law also renders a variety of legal regulatory and legal compliance services in areas such as financial services regulatory, competition law and privacy. The privacy team advises and supports clients in respect of the application of the Protection of Personal Information Act and other privacy laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
\n\tThese legal services are provided to external clients, often in multi-disciplinary teams together with the firm\u2019s Tax and Advisory teams as well as teams from KPMG Global Legal Services.<\/p>\n
Experience Required:<\/p>\n
\tThe successful candidate will be required to run and manage legal assignments in the legal areas referred to above.
\n\tIn addition to the provision of sound legal services, these responsibilities will also include related marketing and administrative support including:
\n\tmarketing and the preparation and submission of proposals;
\n\tthe initiation and completion of the required KPMG risk procedures in respect of projects;
\n\tinvoicing and collection of fees for services rendered.<\/p>\n
Skills & Attributes:<\/p>\n
\tStrong experience in the rendering of South African corporate and commercial law services as well as regulatory services;
\n\tAbility to provide innovative legal solutions to clients\u2019 business and strategic needs;
\n\tGood skills to manage a team for successful delivery at the client;
\n\tSound legal technical ability and knowledge of relevant South African legislation;
\n\tStrong ability to research legal questions and prepare sound legal opinions;
\n\tGood presentation skills;
\n\tGood command of the English language and effective drafting skills;
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
\n\tClient focused mindset and solution-orientated approach;
\n\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills;
\n\tAbility to operate proactively;
\n\tTeam player;
\n\tDrive and enthusiasm;
\n\tCommitment to excellence; and
\n\tGood IT proficiency in electronic research tools and MS Teams.<\/p>\n
Qualification Required:<\/p>\n
\tLLB at a South African University;
\n\tAdmitted Attorney in South Africa;
\n\tapproximately 4 to 7 years dedicated post articles experience in the legal areas referred to above<\/p>\n
