Purpose of the Job:<\/p>\n
\tKPMG Services (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Business Architect (Manager) to work as part of our Management Consulting business unit with the advisory division. The candidate should demonstrate a rounded set of skills and experience in the business consulting domain with a focus on business architecture work.<\/p>\n
Specialist Skills required:<\/p>\n
The specific set of expertise required for this role include(s) business architecture and design skills. The related competencies for the successful candidate are made up of experience in:<\/p>\n
\tProficiency in business architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, BIZBOK\u00ae (from the Business Architecture Guild), or Zachman.
\n\tStrong capability modelling and business process design skills.
\n\tFamiliarity with enterprise tools like ADOIT, ADONIS, CASEWISE, Sparx EA, Bizagi, or similar modelling tools.
\n\tFamiliarity and experience modelling using latest ArchiMate notation
\n\tAbility to translate complex business concepts into structured models and visual diagrams.
\n\tExcellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
\n\tFinancial services \/ banking experience.<\/p>\n
Key job duties or responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Responsibilities will cover a wide variety of advisory tasks within the Management Consulting Advisory team. At the targeted level, specific focus is required on both client-facing and Internal responsibilities, these are not limited to – but should include:
\nClient-facing responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tApply specialist skills and knowledge of current technologies, reference architectures, architecture frameworks, design patterns, and modelling techniques in delivery of specific client solutions and requirements,
\n\tDrive workshops, presentations and facilitation of topical session(s) at the client for the purpose of gathering pertinent client information related to business architecture work, well as milestone deliverables within project engagements (including but not limited to):
\n\tDevelop and maintain business capability maps and value streams and other business architecture artefacts to represent enterprise functions.
\n\tTranslate strategic goals into actionable business architecture frameworks and blueprints.
\n\tIdentify and analyse business impacts, dependencies, and opportunities for digital or operational transformation.
\n\tCollaborate with IT, enterprise architects, solution architects, and project teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technology solutions.
\n\tConduct gap analyses between current and target business states and recommend improvement initiatives.
\n\tFacilitate stakeholder workshops to define business architecture models, value chains, and process enhancements.
\n\tSupport business case development and strategic planning initiatives.
\n\tMaintain business architecture documentation, roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
\n\tPromote adoption of architecture standards and best practices across business units.<\/p>\n
Internal responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tMentor and guide allocated team counselees regarding performance and career development.
\n\tDevelop a respected brand by means of contributing thought leadership write-ups and community participation.
\n\tParticipate in the selling of the solution architecture offering by means of proposal building, and other recognised go-to-market approaches,
\n\tIdentify and manage appropriate risks related to engaging teams and KPMG,
\n\tAssistance with project control (initiation, tracking, reporting, risk management, budget analysis)<\/p>\n

\n\tAbility to interact with varying levels of client management and adjust communication styles accordingly i.e. technical, financial, strategic, etc.,

\n\tSelf-starter with the ability to drive solutions,

\tConsulting skills are a pre-requisite,
\n\tStrategic thinker and be aware of the big picture,

\n\tDemonstrate innovation and creativity,
\n\tStrong technical abilities in the above-mentioned skillsets,
\n\tProgramme \/ project management experience is an asset,
\n\tFacilitation and driving workshop experience,
\n\tExcellent communication, presentation and writing skills.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience
\nQualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree or related field
\n\tProven experience as a Business Architect or similar role.<\/p>\n

\tCertified Business Architect\u00ae (CBA) \u2013 Business Architecture Guild
\n\tTOGAF\u00ae Certified \u2013 The Open Group
\n\tLean Six Sigma \u2013 For process optimization
\n\tBPM Certification \u2013 If focused on process-driven architecture
\n\tCBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) \u2013 IIBA
\n\tArchiMate\u00ae Certified<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\t6 – 8 years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, strategy consulting, or enterprise architecture.
\n\tDeep understanding of business operating models, strategy development, and organizational design.
\n\tFinancial services \/ banking experience beneficial<\/p>\n
