The successful candidate will be responsible for managing editorial and production processes to ensure high-quality TVET publications are delivered on time and within budget. This position requires significant professional experience and knowledge as well as excellent references.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tExtensive editorial and production experience is essential
\n\tStrong knowledge of production processes and technical publishing requirements
\n\tExcellent project management skills
\n\tExperience in communicating clear briefs and maintaining high supplier standards
\n\tHigh proficiency in MS Office; Math-Type an advantage
\n\tOutstanding command of English, both written and verbal
\n\tExperience in managing budgets and maintaining accurate schedules
\n\tHighly organised and meticulous
\n\tUnflappable under pressure and an excellent problem-solver
\n\tAble to work independently and as part of a team
\n\tFamiliar with digital media
\n\tWorking knowledge of copyright law and permissions
\n\tA Bachelor\u2019s degree in English, publishing or a similar field is an advantage
\n\tExperience in educational or technical and vocational publishing is an advantage<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tCo-ordinate and manage multiple schedules, ensuring deadlines are met
\n\tDeliver projects within budget
\n\tManage proofs, version control and final file supply
\n\tPrepare titles for print
\n\tSource, brief and manage editors, proofreaders, over-writers, calculation checkers and permissions researchers
\n\tNegotiate fees and manage supplier deadlines and quality
\n\tEnsure permissions are cleared as necessary
\n\tPrepare artwork briefs and captions and manage artwork quality
\n\tComplete all administration accurately and timeously in line with internal processes and procedures
\n\tEnsure the superior quality of all TVET First publications<\/p>\n
