\tOur client, a leading company in the\u00a0packaging manufacturing industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced\u00a0Manufacturing Operations Manager\u00a0to lead its large-scale production facility.
\n\tThis senior role carries responsibility for a workforce of approximately\u00a0350-400 employees, including\u00a0department managers, and oversees a multi-disciplinary packaging manufacturing operation in a unionised environment.\u00a0
\n\tThe successful candidate will play a key role in driving\u00a0productivity, efficiency, cost optimisation, and operational excellence, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and accreditation standards (ISO 9001:2015, FSSC 22000).<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tFull accountability for\u00a0all packaging manufacturing operations\u00a0within a 63,000m\u00b2 facility.
\n\tProvide\u00a0strategic and hands-on leadership\u00a0to departmental managers and teams across printing, Die-cutting, Finishing, and Corrugating departments.
\n\tDrive\u00a0productivity enhancement, waste reduction, and continual\u00a0efficiency improvements.
\n\tEnsure effective\u00a0planning and scheduling of production\u00a0to meet customer delivery requirements.
\n\tOversee\u00a0capital equipment maintenance and upgrades; manage new equipment installation projects.
\n\tLead\u00a0OEE performance management\u00a0and implement structured reporting systems.
\n\tChampion the adoption of\u00a0ERP systems\u00a0and technology-driven solutions for operations optimisation.
\n\tMaintain\u00a0quality and compliance standards, including ISO and FSSC accreditations, and lead audits.
\n\tEnsure effective\u00a0labour relations, including engagement with unions and workplace fora.
\n\tDevelop and mentor departmental leaders and implement\u00a0apprenticeship\/training programmes\u00a0to build future skills.
\n\tParticipate in\u00a0executive-level decision making\u00a0and contribute to company-wide strategy.<\/p>\n

Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
\tRelevant\u00a0Engineering degree\u00a0(BSc, BEng Preferred). Post Grad Business Management or MBA advantageous.
\n\tMinimum\u00a010-15 years’ operations leadership experience\u00a0in large-scale\u00a0manufacturing, in\u00a0packaging, printing, plastics, or FMCG.
\n\tProven track record of\u00a0multi-disciplinary leadership\u00a0(managing multiple departments and large staff complements).
\n\tStrong exposure to\u00a0unionised environments\u00a0and labour engagement.
\n\tDemonstrated achievements in\u00a0LEAN manufacturing, OEE implementation, and process optimisation.
\n\tExperience in managing\u00a0capital projects\u00a0and facility expansions\/modernisations.
\n\tISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 compliance management experience essential.<\/p>\n
