Requirements<\/p>\n
\tCalculate mine closure costs that are practical and satisfy regulatory requirements;
\n\tProvide a management framework for our clients to manage the closure costs;
\n\tDevelop mine closure strategies, plans, policies and procedures;
\n\tCarry out peer reviews of mine closure strategies and closure costs and provide a technical report on the findings;
\n\tDevelop and implement mine closure project plans, in consultation with client, to guide decommissioning and rehabilitation activities;
\n\tDevelop future end land use plans;
\n\tProvide advice and guidance to the client in terms of the implementation of the mine closure plan;
\n\tEffectively carry out project administration on closure related projects using the organisation\u2019s methodology\u00a0and principles to ensure that the projects are delivered on time, within budget and against our quality standards;
\n\tEvaluate and monitor the mine closure and rehabilitation plans throughout the various stages of the mine life;
\n\tBuild and maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders; and
\n\tCarry out field work under strenuous conditions.<\/p>\n
Technical Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMine Closure Cost Calculations;
\n\tPhysical rehabilitation techniques;
\n\tLand use planning;
\n\tGIS related experience (ArcGIS, QGIS, Model Maker, etc.);
\n\tTechnical report writing skills;
\n\tMine Closure strategies and plans;
\n\tRead and understand engineering designs and associated plans;
\n\tStrong understanding and practical implementation of applicable legislation and international mine closure guidelines or regulations; and
\n\tMine closure audits and monitoring
\n\tStrong numerical ability;
\n\tAbility to work independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team;
\n\tAccountability;
\n\tExcellent communication skills (Both verbal and written);
\n\tExcellent attention to detail;
\n\tAbility to handle stressful situations;<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBSc. Engineering\/Environmental Science or similar;
\n\tExperience with GIS and Model Maker Systems would be beneficial;
\n\tMust be accredited with a professional body and
\n\tMust have a valid driver\u2019s license and passport.<\/p>\n
Work Experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tThree to Four\u2019 experience in a similar role;
\n\tPreferably experience within a consultancy environment;
\n\tProject management experience with regards to mine closure related projects; and
\n\tPrevious experience working on international projects.<\/p>\n
