Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tB.Sc, B.Eng or B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s Code B (08) license
\n\tExperience in conveyance, pumping, treatment and disposal of sewer and\/or potable water
\n\tEight (8) years or more relevant experience preferably in local government
\n\tRegistration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with ECSA or eligible for registration
\n\tComputer Literacy<\/p>\n
The successful applicant \/ candidate must possess competencies as published in Annexure A of the Local Government:
\nMunicipal Staff Regulations promulgated in Government Gazette 45181 of 20 September 2021
\nKey Performance Areas:
\nManage the water, scientific services and sanitation functions with specific reference to:<\/p>\n
\tCollecting and conveying waterborne sewerage \/ treating sewerage to standards to allow discharge to a watercourse \/ on site sanitation by understanding the interaction of the functions of the sewerage department with other departments.
\n\tMonitor performance, conveyance, treatment statistics, staff matters, projects and budgets by scrutinizing reports.
\n\tDevelop, manage and implement maintenance plans for water and sanitation infrastructure.
\n\tCorrect and guide subordinates in implantation of council resolutions and objectives and providing advice.
\n\tControl engineering contracts relating to new infrastructure, maintenance and upgrading of existing infrastructure.
\n\tIdentify and define short and long term objectives and plans.
\n\tKeep abreast with technological developments in rehabilitation and maintenance of water and waste water systems.
\n\tAnalyse and align requirements with operating capability.
\n\tHuman resource management (training, personnel development, performance, discipline, overtime, etc).
\n\tMonitor Contractor performance against agreed terms and conditions through interaction and site inspections.
\n\tAttend meetings and provide comments and opinions on matters affecting or concerning functionality.
\n\tEnsure compliance to Blue drop and Green Drop requirements.
\n\tDevelop and implement Water Conservation and Water Demand Strategies to ensure compliance to No Drop Requirements.
\n\tDevelop long term, masterplans and WSDP related to Water and Sanitation.
\n\tFinancial Control and Management.<\/p>\n
