\tThe Senior Exchange Control Specialist plays a critical role within the Exchange Control Unit, applying expert knowledge of SARB regulations, internal policies, and international best practices to ensure compliant and efficient exchange control operations. This role involves providing specialized guidance to client & internal stakeholders, managing complex regulatory submissions, and contributing to the unit’s overall effectiveness.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAct as a subject matter expert, providing in-depth guidance and assistance on complex exchange control matters to other Citibank N.A. South Africa Branch Departments and foreign correspondent banks
\n\tContribute significantly to the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust internal procedures and controls related to exchange control
\n\tSupport the Head of Unit in liaising with SARB, the Financial Surveillance Department, and other regulatory bodies, preparing necessary documentation and communications
\n\tProvide expert knowledge and support to various business areas in preparing for Exchange Control inspections by the Financial Surveillance Department of the SA Reserve bank, offering specialized input to resolve issues
\n\tThoroughly review, validate, and recommend for authorization exchange control applications, exemptions, and reporting submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
\n\tActively participate in the testing of new systems or processes that may have an impact on Exchange Control execution, ensuring systems adequately address regulatory requirements
\n\tSupport the maintenance and further strengthening of relationships between Citibank N.A. South Africa Branch and the Financial Surveillance Department of the South African Reserve Bank to foster continued cooperation
\n\tRepresent the Exchange Control Unit at internal and external user groups and other forums pertaining to Exchange Control, as delegated by the Head of Unit
\n\tProvide support and deliver training on Exchange Control matters to clients and other Citi Departments
\n\tProactively identify opportunities and recommend process improvements, automation, and digital initiatives to enhance exchange control operations<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tReelvant experience in a related role
\n\tDeep understanding of SARB Exchange Control Regulations and Financial Surveillance requirements
\n\tEffective communication and analytical skills
\n\tDemonstrated ability to engage effectively with stakeholder and provide guidance
\n\tExpert level proficiency in Windows, MS Project, and MS Office Suite<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s\/University degree or equivalent experience<\/p>\n
